Love the Arden!

We love the Arden Theatre. Great plays. Great local actors. And a friendly venue. We recommend seeing plays at this wonderful theater.

Love the Arden Theater. If the plays are not always great they are at least very good and the acting and production values are always top rate. Recommend a subscription to such a valuable local Philadelphia theater.

The Arden consistently produces top quality plays. Old masters, new playwrights. They're all performed with professionals that you have seen in movies or on TV or heard on voice over commercials. Two of my favorites over the years are Greg Wood and Grace Gonglewski. Any of these productions could have appeared on Broadway or in the West End, but they... More

Renewed for next season after Passion performance. Actors never fail to delight. Props impressive. But story line a bit insipid. But the company itself is excellent. Not a bad seat in the house & a variety of traditional & new plays are offered. Add that to community participation with work shops & Children's offerings for a 5 + rating .... More

The acting and singing was outstanding. The storyline is a little bit of a downer but that is not the fault of the theatre. The theatre is very small so there is not a bad seat in the house. The only thing is if you are tall, the room for your legs is somewhat tight.

We started coming to the Arden right after work over a decade ago and I still do not begrudge the push to get off work in time. Even if it means eating in the car on the way, both of us are always ready for a new experience, a perfect performance has been our consistent experience. Do not worry about... More

Experienced the local revival of Sondheim's PASSION. Often considered differently by the critics versus the audiences, we had a very positive theatrical experience attributable to engaging performances and great staging of another type of love story well told by Sondheim.

While our son was taking acting lessons at Arden we attended the matinee performance of Macbeth. Entrance to the theatre is a unique vibe as you weave your way under the arch of bleachers. Not a bad seat in the house. Sound & production quality -excellent. The dark storyline of MacBeth was enlightened with a modern twist and interpretation. Terrific... More

We took in Arden Theatre Company's production of Shakespeare's Macbeth. It was promoted via NPR and it certainly did not let us down with quality. With its proximity to several restaurants - or you can have Arden have a restaurant meal waiting for you with planning - this is a great way to spend an evening downtown. Arden's production of... We have been subscribers to the Arden Theatre for at least eight years and of the more than 35 plays we have seen, only one (The Seafarer in 2009) didn't make us feel that we had just seen a fantastic production. Maybe we were not in the mood for that style of play that day, but every other play we... More
