Last week I saw an exceptional performance of Great Expectations at the Arden Theatre. The seating had changed from the previous production and I found myself stepping into a different world. In this world each member of an outstanding cast played at least three or four different roles and did so beautifully. This is what makes the Arden so special.... More

Went to see the current production of Great Expectations with a 6 person cast while on a combined business/pleasure trip to the great city of Philadelphia. Didn't know what to expect but had a great evening with barely a moment to catch breath. If this is typical of the productions at this small theatre tucked away in the old city... More

Wonderful production with creative staging and costuming that enhanced theater experience. This is a repratory theater and cast was outstanding. Theater is a bit old, but you won't care after a few minutes.

Clean and comfortable seats. This venue is absolutely one of the best in Philadelphia. Located near Market Street and very accessible to the subway and bus stops.

OK, it is all about the play. Really! The Arden Theatre is a great place to see live theatre at its best. There is a room off to the side where skits are performed and or food can be consumed. They also have from time to time theme parties where local establishments feature their wares while people mingle and have... More

Not a bad seat in the house. Not same old plays. Not boring. It is fresh, with great actors. It does immerse you in story! It provides venue for high school kid's exposure to the world of theatre. It is absolutely worth a visit.

I have been a subscriber for years at the Arden. Though I may not always enjoy a particular show, the Arden's productions are terrific. The talent (which is often local), is wonderful to watch in dramas (August Osage County), musicals (Sweeney Todd) or comedies (Incorruptible). They produce local writers (Michael Hollinger) as well as the very well known (Sondheim). Some... More

We have been subscribers for the past several years. Each season there is usually a musical, a new twist on a classic and some new works. The acting is excellent. Love the intimacy of the venue. Haven't enjoyed every single play but I like being exposed to different types of theater. The performances are thoughtful and well presented. Getting the... More
