Great views

While not the DC National Mall, I thought the Park Service did a great job creating this space. It provides great views of Independence Hall, really great space for pictures.

This is a vacant lot which used to have several historical buildings, some designed by Frank Furness, which were destroyed make room for this ridiculous tourist trap.

This is the area across the street from the Visitor's Center (fantastic) and runs along the building which houses the Liberty Bell. The Mall is a nice open space with a park like feel to it connecting many of the historical locations. You really can't miss it if you are visiting the Liberty Bell or Independence Hall. However, do yourself... More

Nice hub of activity when you are visiting the city. When we were there it was incredibly crowded and there were silent protests on the lawn area. It is mostly grass and pathways. Don't go out of your way to visit here because it isn't really a destination. It is more like a small park.

I was in town with a friend Colleen..while she attended a league of women voters meeting I walked around the mall area. The new Jewish museum is up and running the constitution center was busy and the liberty bell And Independence Hall all doing tours. On a great sunny day. A great place to be for history buffs.

The mall area is really just a grassy area in between city streets and historic buildings. It's a nice place to let your kids run around after you've taken them thru the old buildings and history tours. If you packed a lunch it's the perfect spot to sit a eat and take in everything around you.

The Mall is just the area between the National Constitution center and Independence Hall. There is a lot of space if you'd like to have a picnic. It's also near Benjamin Franklin's grave.

This is the most historical place in America. It is where the USA began and has non-stop interest points as far as the eye can see. From Independence Hall to the liberty bell, this area is the beating heart of American history.

This mall is the 3 block area between Independence Hall and the National Constitution Center. The Liberty Bell Center can be found in this area, as well as the US Mint a short walk away, and Ben Franklin's grave site. This was a good area to stop, relax, get pictures of the structures in the background, and kind of drink... More

When you leave Independence Hall and head north towards the Liberty Bell Center, you have entered block one of the Independence Mall. In this area is the Liberty Bell Center where you view the bell, a large grassy area with a few benches to sit on and restrooms. North of that is block two which is where the Independence Visitor's... More
