It's a statue based on a movie character, that's it. People will try to take your picture and sell you T-shirts while you're there. It's ok if you loved the movie, but you'd probably have a better time running up the steps of the art museum, as was done in the movie. By the way, people still use those steps... More

To everyone who wrote that this is just a statue- you're right. it is just a statue, and I agree- it's located in a unique location next to the art museum, but that doesn't mean you need to choose one over the other. The art might be beautiful and the statue a fun tribute you visit one you're around. I... More

Why do you want to see a statue of Sylvester Stallone. Walk up the steps to see world class art. I guess it is fun to make fun of the piece and pose for a photo.

If you're a fan of Rocky or care about anything "Rocky" in general, the statue is a must see on your trip to Philly. It's right beside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, so if you happen to be at the museum or want to go see the famous "Rocky Steps", the statue is right there. It's not a big statue... More

But it still gets four stars because it encompasses the American ideal of hard work and perseverance that leads to success. Sure we might not all win the big fight, but with hard work, we live life, and hopefully a life that makes the world a better place to live. The statue is a monument to a lot of things,... More

I have seen this statue in three different places around Philadelphia and it has always made me smile. Now it is slightly hidden down by the sidewalk at the bottom of the Art Museum stairs. It's free to view and get your photos taken with it. Although the homeless people hanging around will offer to take your photo with your... More

Rocky Statue is just to the Art Museum and I think that if you are tourist and you want to be familiar with the most popular Philadelphia attraction you definitely have to stop and take some pictures. Specially if you are fan of Rocky Stallone movies.

I have always been indifferent to the Rocky movies, but my Bus drove by it, so I took some pictures. It's just a small statue, and unless you really love the movies, then the "Rocky Steps" aren't really that interesting either. If you're a big Rocky fan, however, I'm sure you'll want to visit the statue and run up and... More

One of the must-dos for the first time vistor to Philly, along with indulging in their famous cheesesteaks. We went at night and climbed the stairs of the Art Museum (very slowly since I just walked miles and my feet were killing me!). Then we slowly walked down as the statue is at the bottom of the steps and we... More
