Take a Free and Friendly walking tour with us! It’s free, which means you tip us what you want. It’s friendly because we’re friendly folks. And it’s Philadelphia because we love it and want you to love it too. We’re a Philly company and we’ll show you the whole Philadelphia – or the whole of what’s in walking distance. We lend our friendship freely and we’ll gladly recommend a place to go out after the tour.

Colonial Cheesesteak Tour

The Colonial walking tour was great. Both entertaining and informative. History lesson given by our tour guide Mark. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Philadelphia!

Thanksgiving weekend we took the Benjamin Franklin tour with our 10 year old son. Mark, our guide, was terrific. The tour was very entertaining and informative. In addition to the extremely interesting historical content, Mark had great advice about things to do in Philadelphia beyond the tour. We highly recommend Free and Friendly to anyone visiting Philadelphia!

December 30, 2015 I and my family of 5, including an 8 year old and teen age children, went on a very organized and informative tour with Free and Friendly Tours led by our kind and knowledgeable tour guide Mark. He was patient and willing to answer all of our questions. Our tour was and hour and a half and... More

We took the Cheesesteak Tour which was more about Ben Franklin that it was about Cow on Fermented Cow Juice Sandwiches. Our thoughts on the tour are perfectly summarized by the recent rating and review of user BobCatP: "The owner, Mark, was our tour guide for what turned out to be a semi-private tour. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic.... More

My husband and I took the 'Dark Side of History' Free and Friendly tour as recommended. Our tour guide was Mark, an excellent guide whom we had before on a tour. We learned many things that you don't usually hear about in history and you would have to do some digging for the info, but Mark made it easily available,... More

We recently joined the walking tour of central Philadelphia organized by the Free and Friendly Tours and had a great experience. To start off with we were a little late to reach the meeting point having driven in from out of town. Mark, our tour guide, called us on our mobile and assured us that he would wait for our... More

We took the Billy Penn Tour which was more of an architectural than a history tour. Quite a different perspective than the more typical early American history in Philadelphia. The owner, Mark, was our tour guide for what turned out to be a private tour. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. His love for his native city is evident. We... More

it ended up being a private tour which turned out to be great. If I was to book a private tour in Philadelphia, it would absolutely be with Free and Friendly Tours. Our tour guide Chris was very knowledgeable and a funny guy. We did the Billy Penn tour and got a kick out of it. Definitely recommend!!

My tour-guide was friendly and enthusiastic, but whenever I asked him a question that was "off script" he usually had to admit that he did not know the answer. It seems like he's learned enough to give the official tour, but does not know much else about the city's history. Despite these reservations, I would recommend this tour to others,... More
