My husband surprised me with tickets to see a performance by the Philadelphia Orchestra featuring the great pianist André Watts for my birthday. This marked the first time we had seen a performance at Verizon Hall. It is a beautiful space; both inside Verizon Hall itself and in the Kimmel Center generally. Very modern and striking with additional art enhancing... More

The National Centre for Performing Arts Orchestra, based in Beijing, gave a marvelous concert at Verizon Hall on 7 Nov. Conductor Lu Jia is Italy-trained and specializes in Opera. His Orchestra is very young -- only 4 years old -- and the average age of its members is 30! They delivered a first-rate performance of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, after... More

The Kimmel Center itself is charming. You can hear well from any seat in the venue. Great entertainment is brought in for the enjoyment of people who like theater, music, speakers, etc. Parking is easy.

We always think the Kimmel center is a wonderful venue to see the orchestra. Despite less than friendly reviews, we think the acoustics are just fine and the hall is beautifllly appointed. It is easy to get to by car or public transportation and plenty of good dining opitons are within a reasonable walk. I think it is one of... More

I am not a lover of classical music, but our tour group had a concert included, the Mahler piece, so I went and did enjoy it. The venue is stunning, the new conductor is very energetic.

if you can just stop in an take a look at this theater its worth it - the textures in the ornate wood work and overall design is beautiful. Sorry to say I have not seen a performance in this building but my sister's college graduation was held here and the sound was amazingly clear from up on a balcony... More

We have been here many times but somehow today I truly felt how much I liked this place. In the heart of Philly there is this impressing architecture, place of great acoustics and practically always good program. The tickets are expensive but there are students' discounts. The main concert hall is shaped like a cello and the audience is sitting... More

We attended a wonderful performance by the philharmonic.Since works change according to their schedule, check out the website and enjoy! The theater for this performance is unique with some seating behind the stage. It might be very interesting to sit there and see the performers from above. The architecture for the center is interesting to see and the citizens flock to... More
