Philadelphia has always had great theater but now if you can't get to NY you will not be disappointed with the incredible performances with the some of todays best musicals, plays, opera, dance. As the kids of Fame once said. Life Is A Celebration

My husband and I attended an evening performance of a program of Barber, Brahms, and Dvorak featuring soloist Augustin Handelich. It was outstanding. The performance was beautiful. Verizon Hall is a terrific venue. We were orchestra left, row S but it didn't appear that there was a bad seat in the house. The coat check is convenient, as was the... More

The setting is as dramatic as any performance. Get a behind-the-scenes tour to really appreciate that the Kimmel is made up of completely separate venues, with distinct architectural details, all under the same airy "dome." I have seen both professional and amateur events here. The Kimmel is a great sponsor of the Arts in Philly for both its patrons and... More

I have been to the Kimmel for performances and I personally find the building unappealing, cold and unwelcoming. Inside the performance halls it is attractive and appealing but that does not make up for the unpleasant environment that surrounds them. However, the behind the scenes tour of the Kimmel is very interesting and well worth the time.

The orchestra and conductor/music director are world class and the hall reflects an appropriate setting for a great experience.

Was in the audience when May Rendell and the architect spoke of the Kimmel Center plans. How it was to be inviting and be use not just for performances but as a meeting place for the public. Sadly, it never came to pass; the concept and the reality never meshed. Marble and high ceilings lack warmth. Volver a Garces restaurant... More

Kimmel center has unique design - you are seated in a cello!), and superb acoustics. I was lucky enough to attend a concert where they also played the organ. A must attend, if you are an art-lover.

This beautiful facility houses a few venues for outstanding music and entertainment. The Philadelphia Symphony is world-class, and, great International guest conductors and special soloists come from all over the world. Look at the ceiling while you are enjoying the music, and you'll see that it was built to resemble a cello!

We saw a concert in Verizon Hall in the Kimmel Center. What a beautiful hall with good acoustics and red toned wood and a magnificent organ. The concert was excellent too. We would return for another concert when we visit Philly again.

Have visited the Kimmel Center many times. Great public building with very cool architecture and community space. Wonderful halls (Perelman and Verizon) for concerts and performances. Accessible to parking and great restaurants and bars. The Philadelphia Orchestra is a world class ensemble and their new conductor, Yannick is phenomenal!
