With a seedier R-Rated mature audience's aspect, Grim Philly reveals the less told, often bloody; sometimes embarrassing (grim) histories of our city through meticulously researched tours conducted by professors, authors, and young professionals. Ghost and vampire lore are explored, and language used by our guides is more than often not suitable for children or the prudish. A wide variety of topics include ghost hunting, serial killers, and gangsters to magick, Voodoo and brothels; riots, local pirates, and the Jersey Devil. Tours are offered by foot, tavern, and boat. Voted Best Philly tours and featured on Travel Chanel- we are open year round though offerings, hours, and departure change seasonally.

This was a nice ride along the Delaware River that left from the Seaport Museum and went from bridge to bridge. It was more pirates and Jersey Devil stories then it was ghost stories but that didn't matter to us, the story telling was still interesting. They do have a limited cash bar on board and there is a restroom... More

I am a huge fan of humanizing history, the good, the bad and the ugly. This tour delivered. Our guide definitely kept my attention, and the tour was over before I knew it. There was a lot of great and interesting information. I was amazed at what I learned. I would recommend (and have) this tour to anyone who is... More

Since the tour was not there at the appointed time was a little nervous. The tour was good. The guide was energetic. Had fun. I thought the Vampire part was a stretch. The rest of the tour lots of interesting facts.

Visited Philly for the weekend, found a deal for this tour and couldn't have been happier with it. The tour was a chance to explore the city with a unique twist. Most Philly tours focus on Revolutionary War-era, however the Grim Tour ties in so many other aspects such as the serial killer and cemetery walk through. Our guide was... More

Ted was awesome. His combination of the grim side of Philly along with his extensive knowledge of history made the tour very enjoyable. We will go on another Grim Philly tour next time we're in town!!

Well, first on organization -- we were told to be in front of the visitor center at 6:45. Our guide didn't show up until after 7 (I called to make sure my son and I were in the right place to be told she had just left). Now on content - There was very little mentioned about vampires or ghosts.... More

While the tour provided some very interesting information, there wasn't any kind of a structure to it. The guide was very animated and had a lot of energy but he was all over the place. During one stop he told us about how the mob trafficked Tommy Guns and ended the story talking about slavery. However the walk/route was good... More

We had a good time Our guide was informative and sweet. It started to pour down rain and she gave up her own umbrella to a guest. I will tell my friends about this tour.
