With a seedier R-Rated mature audience's aspect, Grim Philly reveals the less told, often bloody; sometimes embarrassing (grim) histories of our city through meticulously researched tours conducted by professors, authors, and young professionals. Ghost and vampire lore are explored, and language used by our guides is more than often not suitable for children or the prudish. A wide variety of topics include ghost hunting, serial killers, and gangsters to magick, Voodoo and brothels; riots, local pirates, and the Jersey Devil. Tours are offered by foot, tavern, and boat. Voted Best Philly tours and featured on Travel Chanel- we are open year round though offerings, hours, and departure change seasonally.

The tour guide was well informed and interesting but it was hard to hear him, maybe he needs a microphone in the taverns. I really liked the first part which was almost too much info but then the second tavern had almost no historic information and the third was a complete bust with very little information or none; unless we... this was a gift -- so the $57.00 for the history lesson where the guide had his back to us the entire time we did not pay for -- the snacks were a joke - 6 pretzel nuggets, chocolate eyeballs a peppermint stick and 2 ritz crackers -- drinks were not discounted visuals were laminated slides , Pathetic

We went the night a giant storm hit philly so nobody else in our group showed up. It was just us and our tour guide Ted. I was concerned at first as most people might be on a historical tour just three people when you don't know the other person. I was wrong Ted is an amazing guide we had... More

After the initial confusion of thinking I had signed us up for a ghost tour (my mistake completely) we settled in for an awesome dinner and tales of Christmas's long long ago. The guide Joe made it fun and exciting and we had plenty of drinks and prizes. Definitely a great night for a group of friends!

I've done a number of these tours. I always learn about some different aspects of life in Philly many years ago. The guides are fun and entertaining. I like checking out new bars/restaurants in town and that's another nice aspect. I surely recommend it. Not necessarily a family friendly show - but surely fun.

This is my second tour. The first was the halloween one for a bachelorette party which was awesome! The most recent one that I did was the christmas one with my boyfriend. This was a smaller tour, msot likely due to the weather being colder and it being msotly inside. Regardless, this tour was just as fun. We met some... More

It was a very entertaining tour. I would've liked if we moved around a bit more to other bars but it was still very good.

The tour was educational and fun. It's an adults-only event with adult-themed history that was entertaining and educational. Tour guide Joe was friendly, insightful and funny, and spent time with everyone one-on-one to answer questions or just chat. Two of the three locations we visited were AWESOME (Zento and JJ Bootleggers), and the drinking was delicious! Definitely recommend, and we'll... More

We had an amazing time on this tour and learned a lot about the history of Philly, both the good, bad and gritty. It made all the more enjoyable with how much fun, knowledgeable and laid back our guide, Ted, was.

I took my Aunt on the Oktoberfest Haunted Tavern Tour for her 60th birthday present. We had so much fun. I learned so much. And our tour guide, Ted Sisco was awesome. He was funny, entertaining, & knowledgeable. If I book another even with this company, I'd love to have Ted be my tour guide again. Very fun night.
