With a seedier R-Rated mature audience's aspect, Grim Philly reveals the less told, often bloody; sometimes embarrassing (grim) histories of our city through meticulously researched tours conducted by professors, authors, and young professionals. Ghost and vampire lore are explored, and language used by our guides is more than often not suitable for children or the prudish. A wide variety of topics include ghost hunting, serial killers, and gangsters to magick, Voodoo and brothels; riots, local pirates, and the Jersey Devil. Tours are offered by foot, tavern, and boat. Voted Best Philly tours and featured on Travel Chanel- we are open year round though offerings, hours, and departure change seasonally.

Serial Killer tour with TED ruled!

Fascinating and informative AND ghastly. Ted was an amazing tour guide and incredibly intelligent. Would totally do another tour with him!

Recieved the bootleggers ball tour as a birthday present. Great info, extremely knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Couldn't have gone better. Loved this tour, planning many more events in the future!!

Interesting history that can to life through the storytelling skills of Joe. He was very attententive to all on the tour and had a great sense of humor. I would recommend asking for him. The tour was colorful in presentation and is meant for adults not children or families.

The tour was great and includes a shot at the bar after it all. The information is intriguing and factual! Second Grim tour we've done and certainly not our last!

Our guide was great. She stayed in character and spoke loud enough for our large group to hear. The information she gave was great and interesting. You don't go into any buildings and there is lots of walking. I felt half our tour was walking to destinations with no stories along the way. Wasn't scary at all. I was really... More

Interesting insight into the unknown Philly underworld during Prohibition and before. The tour is conducted by a university history professor who is very knowledgeable and passionate about Philly (and other) history and provides interesting and little known information in a very entertaining manner.

I was not aware of how rich in history Philadelphia was until our wonderful tour guide Ted showed us around and thoroughly explained every detail thoroughly. Knowledgable would be a huge understatement to describe Ted, he is the epitome of what intellect truly is. If you take this tour please request him, you will not regret it! Thanks again for... More

This was fun tour, and different way to see part of Philly. The guide we had really knew a lot, spoke well, and was excited to answer any question. You had. Would be happy to do another tour.

We grew up in Philadelphia so the go to history lesson growing up was a walking tour of the city. This one blows every other tour out of the water! Joe was a great guide on the Bootleggers Ball and we learn so much about the area we had never known! We met some great new folks and the drinks... More

Our guide was a perky young history student who definitely knows her Philly history and is a good speaker. The tour was primarily Philly history with a gruesome twist with a pirate, ghost and vampire story mixed in. We enjoyed the tour because the tour guide was fun and informative. The tour was about 2 hrs. long and the time... More
