This was a weird Macy's experience as I was in there right before a major holiday and I thought it would be easy to pick up a shirt on sale as the one I had was stained and I needed a dress shirt quickly. The sale shirts were far and few in-between. The best thing I could say is that... More

Now Macy's formerly Wanamakers one of the first if not THE first department stores in the U.S. Beautiful building prominently situated next to City Hall. Definitely worth the trip if not for the building for the innumerable sales Macy's is always having.

As a child I was taken to Wanamaker's Department store to see the statue of the eagle and hear the organ. Returning as an adult, it was exciting to see the eagle(Philadelphians say "Meet you at the eagle") and hear an organ concert on this historic organ. Fun to shop but a bonus to see the elegant store and hear... More

Sales City. Go early. All retirees are up and doing their Christmas shopping (in July). Always have unique items. Very good materials, fabulous buys. Even sales are great.

If you grew up a boomer in Philadelphia this will always be the Court at Wanamakers. A rose by any other name.... See it during the holidays. Great tradition.

Great shopping. This building is very old and has an oldepartment store feel to it. There is a huge selection and the staff is exceptional. They all remember me by name. ( I work near by and I'm there a lot)

Yes worth a look even if you aren't buying. The central atrium is a magnificent structure housing a huge organ which may be played if you are lucky to be there at the right time. Amazing sound.

Beautiful historic building in the shadow Philadelphia's City Hall houses this mid-scale department store. Make sure you look for coupons in the local paper (many of the papers are free) for additional savings.
