Another national registry location. But when you walk into the grand hall and see the organ up 3 stories, you can just sense the magnificence of the the place. The layout of the building. The arrangement of the floors. Shopping was not just to get what you want, but it was about having a great experience. There was a helpful... More

We had not done our research, but stopped into Macy's near our hotel looking for some more comfortable shoes. Unexpectedly for us, the pipe organ concert began. Such a treat. Be sure to time your shopping to hear this wonderful pipe organ.

Must see stop to see how old department stores were like. This is the old famous John Wanamaker's building with the famous eagle. You can also check out old Wanamaker organ that still is played Monday thru Saturday.

I timed our visit to Macy’s to hear again the magnificent organ in full voice in the daily organ recital. It astonishes me to see people shopping as the mighty instrument thunders around the vast atrium and beyond. Even if not interested, it is still an experience which, when coupled with shopping, is not available anywhere else. As a musician... More

I am a guy, so I was not excited to go shopping. But the inside of this building is beautiful! The lobby is huge with marble and art work. Even if you don't end up buying anything (like I didn't) this is very much worth spending some time in.

The outside of this building is not impressive, especially when contrasted to the City Hall immediately adjacent. However, one step inside and you can feel something special. For me there are fond memories from when it was Wanamaker's - the Christmas light show, organ concerts, meeting at the "Iggle", the umbrella repairman, etc. There has not been a repair department... yes the merchandise was good, but the star is the amazing atrium with the large and impressive organ (concerts often at noon). Visitors can get a discount if they buy a gift package. No tax on clothes!

I have nothing to say about the cloths or the store because it just like any other Macy's I've seen back in California. I was there for the Christmas show and it was a great one! the organ plays beautifully and the inside of the building is just awesome! Macy's is known at making great Christmas shows (2 days later...
