It was an overcast misty day at the end of March, and I was waiting at the intersection of 15th Street and J.F. Kennedy Blvd. to join a group for the Love Letter Tour. However, nobody was at the Love Park and I started to worry. I entered The Love Letter Welcome Center, a building with a round roof and... More

I was really lucky to have Sarit as our groups' guide of the Mural Mile Walk. She is really passionate about the program of Mural Arts, she gives a lot of interesting details and makes the tour very vivid. She is good at talking to kids and adults of all ages and backgrounds. The tour itself is a remarkable opportunity... More

Lots of people know about the wonderful murals all over the city of Philadelphia and many know about the trolley tours in the summer. But the Love Letter Tour is unique and available all year. It consists of 50 rooftop murals all painted by the Steve Powers in 2010. The "story" is that a young man is trying to communicate... More

I have lived in Philadelphia for over a decade and have always enjoyed our murals, but had never been on a tour. I finally went on a Mural Mile guided walking tour in November and am so glad that I did! Our tour guide (Ben) was informative, professional and made our jam-packed tour pleasant and interesting. He showed us 17... More

I am an international student from Ghana in Drexel University. I choose the Mural Arts Tour as my cultural activity. The Mural Arts Tour was the best three hours of my stay in the US. I enjoyed every bit of it. I learnt how the murals are made. Some of the names of the artists eg. David Guinn. The murals... More

Four of us thoroughly enjoyed the murals tour, then lunch and a guacamole-making demonstration and a wonderful lunch at Distrito--two of us returned the following month for the Colonial-themed murals tour and lunch at City Tavern, which was equally wonderful! And we're taking a friend on yet another "Meals and Murals" tour on Saturday, followed by lunch at Llama Tooth--with... More

I have been on the Love Letters Mural Arts Tour which is seen from the Market Street Elevated train (the el) and the Broad Street Mural Arts Trolley. Both were terrific displays of the some of the largest public art installation in the world. Love Letters is a display of fifty graffiti type murals telling a story of a boy... More

This was one of the best tours I have ever taken. I loved it! We started off with a 1-½ hour mural tour by trolley in several areas of the city and ended with a delicious meal and discussion by Chef Walter Staib at City Tavern. While the tour guide was apologetic that the murals didn’t all tie into the... More

The Mural Arts Program in Philadelphia offers several tours of some of the fascinating murals started in an attempt to control graffiti. The program engages young people and neighborhoods to create some of the most wonderful murals I've seen. There are walking tours and trolley tours, both recommended. Very informative guides, the murals range in style and content, and the... More

The entire experience was terrific. Our guide was wonderful, the information provided about the mural arts program itself and the individual murals was enlightening, really seeing the art up close was great. It was a hot day, yet the tour was so engrossing one hardly noticed the heat. I can't wait to take the other tours they offer. More
