Great for getting around. Although you never know if you'll get an older train or a newer one. The old trains are less comfortable. When the train is mostly empty, they don't usually announce the stops, which stinks if you miss your stop-- so pay attention! Quiet car is first car, and I suggest it if you don't like kids... More

Just does the job. Nothing to bad or good about them, they just get you there to avoid the traffic. More

I've been on public transportation in NYC, California, Japan, Taiwan, England, etc. and prefer public transportation to driving. SEPTA is dirty and dangerous and something I will avoid at all costs! RENT A CAR More

Hard to say anything good about Septa; dirty trains; poor customer service. Sure, mostly on time, but the travel time is slower than it was nearly 100 years ago, so they have lots more opportunity to deal with delays. More

If you're visiting Philadelphia from out of town, and you're on a budget, you're stuck with SEPTA. The trolley and subway lines run fairly regularly. The buses come when they feel like it. Plan accordingly. And buy tokens. You get ripped off if you don't have tokens. (One time, I only had a $5 bill, so my trolley ride cost... More

Please. America's highest fares. America's greediest drivers, and the poorer people of Philadelphia are at the mercy of SEPTA as they struggle to get from A to B. SEPTA is not an asset, it's just a necessity. Let's hope for reform! More

In the city, the bus lines are ok, but many lines need more service. Train from airport a joke. Stations in city not great if you have luggage. Limited police presence on subway, but it is quick. The limited trolleys are cute. Buy tokens, much cheaper than paying cash. Commuter lines a nightmare in peak hours due to crowding. More
