If you are thinking this is an America's Cup sailing experience, think again. But if you want an informative sail up and back the Delaware river, this hits the spot. Our experience: 1. Pier 24 was easy to find, set my GPS to the location provided in the confirming email. There was parking available. 2. Pier 24 has one sailboat,... More

I took my girlfriend on a sunset sailing tour on a Saturday evening. We've been to Philly and seen all the sites and all there is to do but this is something we've never considered. It was meant to be a romantic surprise and she was floored! First off we were welcomed by Captain Tom and his first mate? I'm... More

Amazing evening on the Delaware River with the gorgeous Philadelphia Skyline as a backdrop. Friends from the UK and Michigan raved about the trip and can't wait to do it again.

We booked a "Tropical Sail" tour as part of our 20th Wedding Anniversary week-end in Philadelphia. When booking, I told Captain Tom that we were celebrating this special occasion. The name of the tour conjured up in my mind a celebratory atmosphere of tropical music and maybe a pina colada. But unfortunately, that wasn't the case at all. There was... More

Everything about our 90 minutes sail was right. The price was reasonable, the sail (for non-sailors like us!) was great and the hospitality was excellent. The "Summer Wind" was a great experience...just the right length of time for the route.

We had a delightful moonlight cruise with Captain Tom, his son and a lovely couple from Holland last night. This sailboat is rigged like a Chinese junk and just glides along the sparkling waters of the Delaware River giving all aboard an outstanding view of our beautiful city of Philadelphia and its neighbor across the river Camden. The battleship New... More

Well, to no fault of the captain, the evening of our scheduled Moonlight sail conflicted with a rap concert at the Susquehanna Bank Center across the river. It was very loud and obnoxious, which definitely detracted from the romaticism of the evening. Luckily we have a good sense of humor about these things and weren't too thrown off. The ride... More

While looking for a family activity to break the stress of dual graduate-school graduations on our only day left in Philadelphia, I came across American Sailing Tour's webpage in a Google search. A couple of phone calls later and after talking with Capt. Tom of the schooner Summer Wind, we had a charter booked for sunset that day. We arrived... More

This was a wonderful and unique way to see Philadelphia. My friends and I took a sail last year and really enjoyed it. We did a Tropical Sail and the music added to the fun experience. The 90 minutes was just about right. I am coming back this year with my husband for a Sunset Sail. Thanks for a lot... More
