A must to visit the ship and submarine! You actually get to walk thru the entire sub. Not for the elderly with walking issues or, small kids as you have to step and climb thr narrow, high passages . Very interesting as was the ship ( high steep steps) . Highly recommend as it described and you got to see... More

It was quite dull, a good view over the water, and the boats. Not that special, giant metallic men statue, very futuristic.

Penn's Landing has always had ships and views of the Delaware River and New Jersey. But in 2014, the city added Spruce Street Harbor Park, which has a beach theme complete with hammocks and beach chairs. Some of the hammocks are traditionally hung between trees, but a few are over the water. Also, it has games for kids and adults,... More

Great addition to the Penn's Landing area Great place to spend a leisurly summer day Several food vendors. Many hammocks or Adirondick chairs to sit and take in this urban park from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nice little park with sand and boardwalk along the river with food and beverage from Garces. Price were reasonable considering center... More

Penn's Landing has the potential to be something amazing. I have been to many other cities that have a river walk type set up, and this one is way down on the list. There isn't much to do other than walk around a mini park and a few concession stands that sell food. There is an old ship and submarine... More

Went during Memorial Day, and there were many ships to visit. Although we didn't actually tour any of them - we did observe them from the landing area. Battleship USS Olympia -- of the great white fleet -- is here as well as a submarine from WWII. Other ships come and go. Across the way is the Battleship USS New... More

My wife and I walked through Penn’s Landing on a recent trip to Philadelphia. We were not at all impressed as it was not nearly as nice as many other river fronts and river walks we have been to. Penn’s landing seemed dreary and quite boring. We noticed that the people here did not seem to be having a good... More

The Penn's landing pier area is quite small. When we visited there were 2 "fairs"/"events" happening there and still there was very little to do. The children (which usually find interest with everything) were very bored and soon wanted to leave. Parking in the are is expensive ($15-$20). Unless you're going to tour the museum, battleship & submarine (~ $50... More

We walked over to the Harbor park after watching the Chris Strandring jazz concert (also on Penns Landing). The weather was perfect, no humidity , the large crowd was very festive (lots of college students from what I could tell) and not a hint of unruliness. Great place to hang out at night with the colorfully balls and strands changing... More
