Go to rollerskate - not much else to do. On the other side of the seaport spruce harbor has lots more going on.

We had a limited amount of time to see and experience all the history of the City of Brotherly Love. Took a short jaunt here at the Landing early Fri. morning. Place was empty except for some vagrants who camp out here overnight. The walk along the riverfront was nice and the historical ships moored here were interesting and photogenic.... More

We stayed at the Hilton on the landing thinking we would find many things to do and see and would have many dinning options. Ok, the view of the river day and night is nice and if you are young there are some things to do like sleeping or resting in a dirty hammock but otherwise we did not find... More

We were in Philly at the Itsy convention. Had reservations for ride on one of the Tall Ships during the festival. Rained that day, no ships sailed, out $160 dollars and then found out our ship was on the New Jersey side and we did not know that in advance! So we would have been late anyway because the line... Having never visited Philly before, we never heard anything about Penn's Landing. It's at the end of South Street (which is an adventure in itself!). When we climbed the ramp toward the sign that read Penn's Landing we thought...really? This is it? It's just a overlook onto the major roadway below. It wasn't until we saw several people walk down... More

Five blocks east on either Chestnut or Walnut from Independencehall. A great concert venue and festival location. Several sit down restaurants and just a place for a nice walk. Tour the USS Olympia, an 1890s era Cruiser, Admiral Dewey's flagship in the Spanish-American War. Tour the USS Becuna submarine...but not if you are claustrophobic. All in all a nice place.... More

Not much in the area as far as entertainment goes but if you love boats and war ships. This is for you. Right up on the destroyers and see original battle ships from the 1800s. Must do for anyone who loves boats.
