Liked the sense of history. Hate all the barriers but understand they need to corral the tourists! Have your walking shoes on. You have to go one block north to pick up a ticket. Get there early and know the ticket is for a tour at a specific time. Be on line and ready to go. Some stairs but not... More

We hit the hall after 6, so the tours were done and there was NO line. We literally walked right into the Hall. The foyer is amazing - all original. The park rangers were great - friendly, knowledgable and just the sort you want to find in a national park - they were great ambassadors for the Park Service. Disappointed... More

Not a lot to see in the end but is a must-do if you are in Philly. Cute rooms, interesting architecture.

This was a great stop on our 1 day tour of Philly. The tour was free, but make sure you get your tickets early. Our tour guide was informative and comical at the same time. It's a very quick tour and full of great information. A lot to do in the area, but this is definitely a must. The area... More

The rooms you get to see are really not anything spectacular and nobody would wait on line if incredible events had not taken place there. Wonderful examples of period architecture, though, and worthwhile for those who like that kind of thing. If this is not TOTALLY your cup of tea, skip it and just walk around the historic district.

You can couple this visit with other sites in a close area not transportation necessary. The historic area is one big peice of history and you will find all the characters of history in a 6 city block radius. Your kids will know all of the inside informaion on Ben Franklin and will seem that all that he accomplished for... More

We got our timed tickets and had a bit of a wait. A tip is to go earlier as if they aren't full it appears you may get in earlier. The tour was interesting - park rangers are the guides and do a pretty good job.

We visited Independence Hall as part of the historic Philadelphia experience. The rangers do a great job of walking you through and explaining the hall in detail. You really get a sense for the environment where our country was born. We looked at buying advance tickets for 1.50 each on the website but there are so many time slots that... More
