This is a really nice hike--not too easy, it is steep, and has switchbacks. Not too hard either, definitely 1/2 day. The lake itself is pretty, but even better are the views.

This hike is a little steep at times but not too long and definitely worth it. The scenery on the way up is beautiful and you see several lakes. Crystal lake is beautiful and relaxing. Definitely worth the trip!
I almost didn't go on this hike, because it sounded too steep. It is a bit of a climb, but definitely worth it! If you are old and out of shape like me, just take your time. The views are outstanding.
In preparation for "Bigger" hikes like Duck Lake or Valentine Lake, the short hike to Crystal in itself is a beautiful trail. We encountered a family on horseback returning to the trailhead.
