Me and two buddies hired fishing guide Reid Linnastruth (RioGrande007@hotmail.com) for an early morning boat ride/fishing trip on Lake Crowley and we were greatly rewarded. Reid knew just where to go and provided all the gear. In no time, we were surrounded by other expert guides and float tubers keying off Reid's location. By late morning, it was obvious to... More

We visited the area with kayaks and this was one of our stops. It's pretty barren and muddy/rocky. (Which isn't always so bad, we really like Pyramid And Mono Lakes.) Crowley just doesn't have as much to offer kayakers as those other lakes. Wind comes up in the afternoon and can make paddling a lot less fun. I suspect this... More

I realize that fishing is the big thing at Crowley but here's something a bit different. The north eastern side of the lake has an abundance of obsidian nodules that, if you're a rockhound, can be found quickly and easily. Saturday afternoon, over the Labor Day weekend, my boys and I detoured here to see what we could find. We... More

I live in Crowley Lake area. You can fish, kayak, paddle board, water ski on the lake. I travel thru the meadows walking my dog at least 3 times a week, in every season. My dog likes hopping in the streams during hikes. Good area for jogging. Also lots of camp areas for motor homes or tents. Can also rent... More

This another one of the beautiful lakes in this area. We were lucky to have the area Jay come so we could get some beautiful bird photography in while enjoying the beautiful landscapes.

We stopped here as we were very tired and needed a break, the sites have everything water/electric/waste/benches and fire pits. Thing is you pay for a package which includes day use, launch use, beach storage and hook up of the lake €40.00. There were no washrooms and the toilets are water free. Very nice if you have a boat or... More

There must be a secret to fishing this lake as we didnt know you had to pay to park $9, both areas we drove down were too shallow to shore fish and the bugs were outrageous, and a lot of the places we tried to fish had too many weeds. Was not worth the 40 mile drive from our campsite.

Easy drive (paved roads) and a minor detour from the main highway. Beautiful man-made lake full of clear Sierra Nevada mountain run-off and plenty of fish. The lake serves LA, but don't let that ruin your enjoyment :)

For years and years, visited the Mammoth area but never fished Crowley, well, a couple times and once with a guide, but we like to float tube fly fish, so we stuck to all the smaller lakes in the area. This year we found out "how" to fish Crowley and where to go, and now we have been going every... More
