Worth a stop

Wonderful place to get information, maps and souvenirs. Not over priced either--which is what I find in some welcome centers.

Beautiful area!! We did a great hike to see Devil's Postpile and Rainbow Waterfall. Different, but as beautiful as Yosemite and less people!! Really worth to visit!!

They were very helpful in providing information on the area. If one didn't know, they asked the next person. Nice selection of gifts as well. (The first day we arrived, we had to park under a tree to try to avoid the hail!)

We always check in at the Visitor's center and we visit Mammoth every other summer. This Summer July 2015 was great. The rangers and staff are full of valuable information and they are friendly. Look for coupons and specials from the local business on the racks when you come in.

I don't generally review visitor centers, but this one was really nice and helpful as a first stop in Mammoth Lakes. The staff is knowledgeable and gives you ideas based on your family needs. I liked that they suggested we swap around certain parts of our itinerary based on crowds and closing times. It's also a tranquil area to just... More

Hubby & I took our grand~daughters to the Visitor Center. They loved all the hands on exhibits. Lots of books about hikes in the area.

If this is your first visit to Mammoth then the Visitor's Center should be your first stop. You can get a wealth of information here. If you plan on going down to Devi's Post Pile, you should get a bus schedule here since you cannot drive down past the forestry service gate.
