Great Little Neighborhood

Worth a visit. Wonderful experience and a good place to buy knick-knacks. Small homes converted to shops are very colorfully painted.

If you love original art and the artists who create it, the Village of the Arts is for you. Small, colorfully-painted bungalows line the streets of this neighborhood and serve as both home and studio for many of the artists who live and work here. Try to visit on the first weekend of the month when the Village hosts Friday... More

Made today the day to finally visit the Village. Well, it was 11:00 and practically nothing was open. The shops are scattered around a number of blocks. It really did not grab our interest, even though something like this is just up our alley. The neighborhood is not good and maybe we will try it at another time. Sorry.

If you like shopping for different "artsy" creations this is the area for you. The old homes have been refurbished into art studios and shops. Many of these artists travel the art shows during the season, so it is fun to investigate their beginnings. The female potter crated a bowl before our eyes with great talent. The village mystic was... More

We drove to the Village on a recommendation from Southern Living Magazine, as a day trip from Anna Marie Island. What a disappointment! What little that was open on a Wednesday in a busy March, wasn't worth visiting. While several shops/studios looked cute and appealing from the outside, many had messy, overgrown yards not at all appealing. I don't think... More

This looked like a fun place to visit but I only gave it a 2 rating because we went on a Tuesday morning and nothing was open. The weekend seems like the best to time to visit. There were only 2 or 3 galleries open so we walked around a little and took pictures of the outside of the brightly... More

The artisans were all so nice an helpful. Pick up a map and make a day of it. We will go back as we got there late and most shops close at 4pm.

This is a colourful neighbourhood of funky little homes with galleries and shops. Unfortunately, we went on a Tuesday when virtually all were closed. The later in the week you go, the more are open. This is clearly outlined on the brochure.

Village of the Arts is an area of Bradenton that was once rundown, but through the efforts of the community and artists that has been been transformed to an interesting arts community. Because the residents are creative, independent spirits, their are very few uniform hours. The artists pick the days of the week and the hours of the day they... More
