The Pittsburgh Pirates have had spring training here at McKechnie Field for over 30 years and recently renovated the park to make it one of the most attractive minor league parks around. They have a perfectly groomed field and lots of covered seating, which is very important in Florida sunshine. There is a new deck in right field with a... More

We stopped by McKechnie Field on a recent trip. The Marauders were out of town but we stopped in the gift shop. It was a slow day so the worker locked the shop and took us for a quick tour of the stadium. It was great to see the Spring Training home of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Sunday game is $1 to park, $1 a ticket and $1 hot dogs. Blimey, what's not to like. OK is was about a million degrees even in the shade but kids had a water slide and staff use water pistols and water balloon bombs, all good fun. Game was pretty good too, walk off HR by Marauders. To be fair... More

The first problem I had with the place was the parking. I can't see spending upwards to $10 to park at a minor league game. But we found the cheapest at $2 right outside the left field stands. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for kids. Don't buy them online and fall for the cheaper price scam. I think... More

I am from VT, and we got the chance to come here last spring and see my two favorite teams play each other Red Sox vs Pirates, it was just awesome. Beautiful field. I love the tall palm trees in the grass outside the park. All the employees seemed very friendly. The walkway across the outfield was really neat. We... More

Attended a game in July 2014. Nice little minor league ball park. We had a lot of fun. Staff was great. Very good variety when it came to food and drink. For the most part the facility was very clean.

Went to see the Marauders play. I've been to many baseball venues and I have no desire to return to this one. Poor access and parking, poor and very slow concessions, and just not a very good place to enjoy a game unless you sit right behind home plate. We moved and sat with the scouts and their radar guns... More

You can't beat the value of minor league baseball. Try and hit dollar dog night! Highly recommended.

All I have to say is FABULOUS! Of coarse, being from the Pittsburgh area and The Pittsburgh Pirates being my Favorite baseball team has a lot to do with this review, I still have to say impartially that this is one Great baseball field.

We are from Massachusetts but spend the winter in Bradenton where I grew up now. We never get to see the Red Sox in Boston so seeing them twice in one winter in Florida? Priceless! The park is just the right size, the amenities are great, and the people are what makes it perfect! We go to games at least... More
