McKecknie has the feeling of an old time baseball park! But with all the amenities of the new parks. The wood stands behind home plate hearken to the days of "The Natural" and "A League of Their Own". It is a great place to see a spring training game - even if you are not a Pirate fan. The park... Best old school stadium! Best sight lines, best outfield fan deck! Good ballpark food and beer and always a good, fun crowd!

The new remodeling and the outfield tiki bar make this an outstanding major league spring training and minor league ball park. The beverages are a bit on the expensive side but the baseball is good and two brew-pubs are nearby for relaxation after the game. Parking is a problem for spring training games.

We sat in almost every section as there weren't a lot of people there that night (weeknight Marauders game) and every seat has a good view. It's a nice baseball park with nice beer choices and the usual food selections. There were a lot of families there and as it wasn't crowded, the kids took the opportunity to run around... More

Wife and I went to the Cinco de Myo event there. It was held where the concessions stands re located. The facility seemed very nice to us, it was very well maintained, it was clean and there was plenty of room for the event. Don't know how someone could call it outdated they must not have spent any time in... More

I like the variety of seating available. The new covered seats and deck behind the outfield are great.

We visited several spring baseball parks this season - and sorry to say this was the worst! The bathrooms on the 3rd base side of the field were out of order. If you wanted a burger you had to walk all the way over to the first base side of the field. It was a certainly a "Purest baseball park"... More

McKechnie is the Spring Training (and Single-A minor league) version of Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. It was constructed in 1923 and until 2010 didn't even have lights. Two more major renovations since have made it one of Florida's premier Grapefruit League venues, with a walk-around deck, a Tiki Bar, totally new seating, and ample concessions that have short wait... Very nice ballpark. Surrounding area could use some sprucing up. It was a very sunny day which made the bleacher seats a little warm but overall great time.
