This is an interesting historical cemetery meant to be visited and enjoyed. Look at their web site for an explanation of the famous people, the way it was enjoyed in the past and where to find graves. The Wright Brothers are here as is a real queen. The little boy with the dog memorial is immediately to your right as... More

Woodland is my favorite place in the Miami Valley to stroll through a who's who of historic Dayton. It's an absolutely beautiful, hilly, tree filled giant piece of history. Most people wouldn't consider a cemetery as a place to visit, but this is a MUST SEE! there are so many famous historic figures here from the Wright Brothers to Erma... More

My mother and I visited the cemetery in May. We were looking for the Stanley family's site. Unfortunately we weren't able to find it but we were able to see many of the beautiful monuments and other sites.

This is a great, free place to visit when you are in Dayton. The cemetery is gorgeous and offers great views of the city. Make sure you bring your walking shoes because there are a lot of hills to climb, or you can just drive through. If you're an aviation fan you will want to visit so you can see... More

We came right at 8:00 a.m. when the office opened. The woman working in the office was helpful and friendly. We picked up a map that showed locations of many grave sites as well as the names and locations of many of the trees. We also checked out a CD that allowed us to drive around the cemetery and get... We had a little difficulty finding the Wright Family graves but while we were looking we saw a beautiful cemetary...lots of trees and beautiful flowers. We did find the burial plot and it seemed a little overgrown. But if you are a Wright Bros buff you need to see this.

Most find going to a cemetery a bit morbid, or a place to pay your respects. Not only can you pay your respects, you can tour this fantastic cemetery and see local people who helped define Dayton's history. Be sure to stop by the office and pick up a tour map to see all the graves. Climb your way to... More

Tons of history in this place, you could spend all day looking at the unique stones and taking in the great view from the overlook.

Unless you're crazy superstitious.... This is such a lovely walk in a park with trees and flowers and a cute gazebo overlooking downtown Dayton ---- best viewpoint in the city. Everything seems so beautiful and peaceful.....
