I hesitate to review this place because it's writing the cat out of the bag about the best view in Dayton... but it's so cool and everyone should check it out. The monuments are beautiful and the overlook of downtown cannot be beat. Just drive in and veer to the left and keep going up until you see the gazebo.... More

A pretty hillside cemetery with lots of trees and places to walk. Nice view over the city from the deck at the top. It's "historical" by Ohio standards--over 100 years old. Local notables with large tombs.

WOW! What a find! I want there in search of the Wright Brothers gravesite, and found one of the most unique cemeteries I've every visited. It almost takes on the feel of an art gallery since it is on a hill, and most of the stones are very unique. I've never seen anything like it. Since I had a limited... More

My daughter insisted that we see this cemetery when visiting her at the university. It is by far the most beautiful setting for a cemetery that one could imagine. It is quite hilly with gorgeous views of Dayton. The flowers and trees are lovely. The cemetery itself is like a "who's who" in Dayton as many famous Daytonians are buried... More

What a beautiful cemetery. The Wright Brother's grave was pretty easy to find. Erma Bombeck was a little more difficult, it is a challenge for the day. This is very well kept, hills, lots of people walking thru the area.

We went specifically to see the Wright Brothers plot. There are a few other famous people buried here as well. It is a nice cemetery, but make sure you have a map if you are looking for something in particular. We had picked up a map at a different historical site in Dayton ahead of time. I imagine they have... More

One of the largest (and most scenic) cemeteries in Ohio, Woodland is the permanent home of the Wright family (Orville, Wilbur, Katharine, etc.), Paul Laurence Dunbar, Charles Kettering (in the mausoleum). James Cox and many other luminaries and recognizable (streets named after them) names like Huffman, Shroyer, Ritty, Patterson, Vallangiham, etc. Popular columnist Erma Bombeck has a large boulder brought...
