It was about the 1880 farm life. We got there late, so we only went through some of the property. The one house was open to the public with no restrictions on walking through the downstairs. Farm equipment in the barns with horses and a large pig ready to deliver piglets.

Our Metro Parks rock! I have been to other parks out of state and hands down we have the best State Parks and Metro Parks. They are always clean and maintained.

Dayton's metro parks system takes a backseat to no city in Ohio, and Carriage Hill, a working farm hailing back to yesteryear, just may well be the crown jewel of the system. Several kinds of farm animals are in residence, and there are plenty of buildings to visit, including a working blacksmith shop. Several trails are available for hiking. The... More

Of all the Metroparks Carriage Hill is my favorite. I have been visiting for 35 years and still go back all the time. I take my children there now just like my parents always did. The penny candy store is the best, the grounds are beautiful , the shelter houses are nice for get togethers, and if you like fishing... More

Great place to visit. So much to see and do. Old barns, nature hikes, ponds, farm animals, reenactments. The scenery is just beautiful, a must see in both winter and summer. Whenever friends and family visit we always take them here.

The kids love coming here, not just for the history exhibited about farm life in the past, but for the country store in the basement. (Okay, that is probably their foremost interest, but we still view some of the heritage of the family that lived here.) Old fashioned, with candy you can buy by the piece, it's something you never... Gorgeous area, beautiful barns, very clean animals, especially love the donkeys out front! The candy store is cheap, and full of all kinds of old fashioned goodies, been going there since I was little. I recently did some of my sister's high school senior pictures over here. With the right sunshine and weather, this place is perfect!

This was a great outing for the family. We were able to walk around on our own accord and look at old barns with carriages stored inside, there were a few farm animals that the children just loved seeing. A blacksmith showed us how he worked iron th make a horse shoe. A gentleman showed us how Sorghum was made.... More

Extremely close to the city, yet it has the feel of being out in the middle of nowhere. I have walked all but one of the trails so far and they have done an amazing job of keeping the natural habitat in place while making it fun to hike. Would recommend hiking on these talks to anyone none are very... More
