Our family absolutely loved this place. We have an appreciation for WWII aircraft especially, due to veterans in the family, but this was simply amazing. What a variety of airplanes, from bombers, to presidential planes. The volunteer guides were wonderful and very helpful. One said that this museum is larger than the Smithsonian Air & Space museum. It seemed very... more

Really. If you have any interest at all in history, the militiary, or air combat, this is a must-visit destination. I've been there many times over the past 20 years and it never gets old. In fact, the museum has expanded dramatically in recent years, most recently with the addition of a gallery of ballistic missiles. I've visited aerospace museums... more

We made it to the entrance just before the guided tour started at 10:30 am and it was fascinating!! The aircraft and displays are well maintained and the shear size of the place is rather daunting – we spent about 5 hours there and didn’t see it all. There are displays from the earliest days of flight with the Wright... more

First, it was great to find out that it was FREE!! If you wanted the Imax you had to pay, but the admission to the museum was free. It was very well layed out, with lots of aircraft from the past to the present. Some unbelievable aircraft (B-36)! A must see in Dayton! Also, the cafeteria had a great selection... more

My great, great uncle has a plane on display there. He built an engine for one of the Wright Brother's planes. Was awesome to see it, been wanting to go here forever to visit. Nice museum. I will go back. Can't hardly believe it is FREE! more

The museum has grown and gotten a lot better over the years. The have new displays and a new hanger has opened. They have the layout set that you start with the old planes and you work thru WWI, WWII, and all the other wars we have been in. They have an area just for space and rockets. They have... more

First - get there early. The museum opened at 9:00, we were there at 9:10 and there were plenty of people there already. Go directly to the desk where you need to sign up for a bus to go out the the Presidential Plane and R&D plane hangar. This is a timed sidetrip and the buses fill up quickly. We... more

On a recent trip to Cincinnati we were looking for something to do from there to Columbus. A friend of mine said he and his girlfriend were here a couple years ago and loved it, so I figured even though it was out of the way we'd stop. WOW!!! I'm so thrilled we did. Best part of all, it was... more

Went there in 2002 and again in 2009. Place has expanded since the first visit but still a wonderful place to see. You walk through several different rooms that have different eras of planes. It is great to see how planes and airline suits have changed over the years. We spent a 6 hours there and still did not get... more
