Mostly 18th century buildings redone in an eclectic mix of shops and eateries. The neighbour features great old architecture on properties that display proud looking 19th century homes and well groomed grounds.

Loved the shops and restaurants. Felt very safe walking there from my hotel. Would like to visit again when I am back in town on business.

Just a few blocks down from my hotel. I went here every night of my business trip. Bars and restaurants up and down this street for your pleasure. Please drink responsibly.

We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Surprisingly, a lot of these places only serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Oregon District is very small. Its about 2 blocks with lots of bars and a few independent shops. I saw a music shop, yoga, hair and three other boutiques. None of the boutiques were open, which was weird... More

The phrase “far from the madding crowd” might have come to mind with participants in Dayton’s Oregon District 2014 Garden Tour (scheduled to coincide with the Summer Solstice on June 21). The expression “madding crowd” appears in Thomas Gray’s Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard and then later in the title of 19th century English novelist Thomas Hardy’s novel. The... More

I highly recommend checking out the Oregon District! I wish I lived in this area of Downtown Dayton as I love the atmosphere, art, music, people, and restaurants/bars. The homes and architecture are astounding and a form of art in itself. Do not visit Dayton (or live here) without checking out this area!! The best time to go would probably... More

Leave the family home and visit bars, restuarants, shops, brewpubs. St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in style here. Nice on a summer evening.

Head under the train overpass to the Oregon District. This historic residential and commercial neighborhood is Dayton's first "suburb." East Fifth Street is lined with restaurants, music venues and eclectic shops. Don't miss "Feathers" for vintage clothing and small furnishings while "Brim" sells all manner of stylish hats that would do any hipster proud. A "Goodwill" Store makes shopping for... More

The Oregon District provides a little for everyone - Jazz, Food and Drink. Somewhat of an odd collection; towards the end there appears a number of XXX stores but no matter, doesn't seem to degrade the area.
