Take time to walk the area and enjoy the unique, eclectic shops and eateries. Good food and fun bars with music and some with outdoor seating. Special events like runs and festivals. Definitely something for everyone. Very cool restoration homes in the walking area.

Just a street full of bars in old buildings. Nothing to write home about. One bar charged $60.00 (!!!) for 6 shots. 2 doors down, it was $28.00 REALLY??? We had drove down to Dayton early to hang out in the Oregon District. Pretty much a waste

The Oregon district is a great place to start your trip to Dayton for two main reasons. Firstly, it is a regenerated historic district; so the area is interesting, full of history and character. It's lovely strolling around the neighbourhood and taking in the character of the place. Secondly, the Main Street in the district, East 5th street (I think)... More

Dayton has bikes for rent in the downtown and Oregon District. They made for a delightful ride back to my downtown hotel after dinner. The streets behind (south) of 5th Street are narrow, cobblestone roads with beautifully maintained homes from the 1840s-1860. This neighborhood, and the rental bikes all over downtown, came as a complete and wonderful surprise.

Best place in Dayton to go for a drick, music or fun. Great people and food too. Sort of like Beal Street.

Don't miss the Oregon district of Dayton. The houses are gorgeous, dating back to the Civil War and earlier. Many are fixed up and have beautiful gardens around them, and the overall effect is totally charming and appealing. Great restaurants abound, and be sure to take your time walking around and enjoying the homes.

This is a fun area to walk around and see some really old building. Cute little stores and bars/restaurants. Live music is varied and different at every spot we stopped at for the evening.

We had a good dinner in the area, but unless you are looking for music or adult entertainment this area has little else to offer.

Not much going on Sunday afternoon, but there are various bars, restaurants and trendy shops. The houses and architecture are wonderful. Best to visit on a weekend night to enjoy the bar scene.
