It's a small place, but worth the stop if you like dinos and fossils. They have a little bit of everything, animatronics, fossils, bones, lots of displays on eggs, interpretive paintings. Nice mix of items.

My younger kids love this place. Although some of the displays look a little tired, my kids have fun every time we stop in. It is small enough to see everything in an hour or two making it a great stop if you are on a road trip. The spitting dinosaur is the highlight for the kids and watching the... More

This is definitely every little boys dream. It was enough to keep parents interested so you felt like you were not just doing some thing for the kids. If you are into doing a little hiking go down the road to Dinosaur Hill

It's a nice indoor treat if you are tired of the outdoors. The nature center across the street is slightly more expensive, but far more interesting.

some of the animatronic dinos were showing some wear and tear but overall the museum was great for my 10 year old and had enough to keep me, the HS earth science teacher, interested as well. displays were informative and easy to read for most ages animatronics were very cool for the kids nice to look into the workshop where... Small town Dinosaur Museum. Nothing Fancy but they have some cool exhibits. If you are traveling through Fruita and the kids need a break to stretch the legs, bring them here. All the larger museums take the dinosaur bones from our region and unfortunately there isn't much the local museums can do. It's still inexpensive entertainment for the kids.

The Dinosaur Journey Museum is a great place to take children. It's very educational; not only for children, but for adults as well. The area around Fruita has many paleontological dig sites, which makes the museum very relevant to this area, and a 'must see', especially for people who are planning a vacation to the Grand Valley with children.

We spent a couple hours exploring this fun dinosaur museum. There are lots of fun and interesting displays and information. You can watch work being done on real fossils in the lab. Some of the displays are old and could use some updating. For example don't bother searching for the hiding mammals in the spitting dinosaur display as the sign... More
