Lots of history during the early 17th century. Limited attractions but you can have your quality time by the beach or go fishing by the pier for free and no license needed.

We visited here in November. Quiet, relaxing. Not many people around probably since it's off-season. Walked out on the pier and through the shops and restaurant area. Very nice - quaint, but not really much to do. We did see one family that must have signed up for a Segway tour because we saw them later as we walked through... More

Several businesses had reduced hours when we were there. The area is clean and accessible. Activities mostly scheduled for weekends so Mon/Thurs. not much happening.

Extremely pleasant area to dine, walk or just enjoy the day. Small beach access. Rental for bikes, segue ways. Shops, galleries and restaurants. Free concerts summer and fall on Friday nights. Easy walk from Yorktown battlefield visitor center. Nice history museum.

My husband and I made this walk through Yorktown. It was incredibly beautiful, serene walk. It was like we were the only ones around and we were so impressed by the walk, buildings and beach were so clean.

This is a beautiful spot, marred only by the presence of the Coleman Bridge and the banging from traffic traveling on it. Otherwise, they've restored the entire area, leaving just a few of the "older" hangouts in place (Yorktown Pub, Duke of York Hotel, etc.). Lots of outdoor events from Spring to Fall. Decent beach for a river edge. Very... More

A nice little river walk in a scenic part of the town. Lots of interesting history markers along the walk make it educational as well as enjoyable. Since the area and associated parking is small, be careful if you come on a holiday during the high season. It can fill up fast and leave one without any way to visit.

Clean beach, farmers market on Saturdays, 3 great places to eat. We went there to take a sail on the Schooner Alliance (need to reserve that one in advance as it usually sells out). A pleasant afternoon.

Nice beach area. But the last few years have been going down hill with trash. But still a nice place.
