Other than a receptionist who was more interested in telling a coworker about her family troubles than informing visitors of where to go, we had a great time at Yorktown Victory Center! (the lady should have known better...keep your troubles out of the workplace; it was very disconcerting for my children). Anyway, we were fortunate to visit on October 19... more

Visited here on a combined ticket with Jamestown settlement. Excellent value for money. As with all of these type of attractions, the presentation was very good. Learnt lots of new things. Very helpful and knowledgable staff. more

Well worth a visit. My children loved to dress up a colonial soldiers, volunteer for the militia, and assist in the colonial garden by picking and watering beans. The interpreters were very skilled and friendly. more

This is the sister site of the Jamestown settlement. It is the older one and a bit more dated but still a nice venue. It is a good first stop when coming to Yorktown. The galley is a bit tame and not much new advice. I did like the “talking” figures. The idea is the effect of the war on... more

This place is good if you have kids if not, don't go. The movie was old and not good. The picture and sound were not in sync, very distractive. The battlefield was better. more

The one thing you get from Yorktown that we didnt get at CW or Jamestown, glimpses of real people that were affected by the Revolutionary War. Yorktown didnt focus as much on the important historical figures, but on the little people in the trenches that were caught up in the reality of war with Great Brittain. There is so much... more

I like this place. You got to see a lot of history building up to the revolutionary war. There were camp sites where the soldiers were interactive to visitors to have an understand who life was back then. I really enjoyed myself. This is a place recommending for children. more

This is a nice place to stop while in Yorktown. I would a call it a bit of a tourist trap for 9.25 per head but I guess that is the price of admission. You can see a real colonial soldiier campout with a mortor and artillery demonstration. The colonial farm post revolutionary war was most interesting. more

The Yorktown Victory Center isn’t a large, expansive site like Colonial Williamsburg, but it is nicely done and very well operated. You begin with a stroll down a walkway that functions as a historical timeline. This takes you to the gallery building where you will find an interesting collection of original 18th century artifacts ranging from pocket watches to rifles.... more

Found the Victory Center to be very interesting from the timeline leading into the museum through the museum & movie. Then out back we participated in the cannon firing & musket demonstration. One of the most interesting things(even to the kids) was the medical tent where a doctors assistant explained all the diseases & most common injuries & what they... more
