It used to be the longest wooden pier in CA for shipping/Commerce. Still long, not much to do except walk. The view is nice from the pier, but not worth the fee the State charges you to park there. I "Think" it was $10 dollars, if you had already bought a State park entrance fee for the day from somewhere... More

I like to think of this pier as a small version of Santa Barbara. Pier is a simple (long) boardwalk with only 2 restaurants to choose from. Nothing really special. Just below the boardwalk there is the entrance to the beach and a booth to rent bikes. Which allows you to enjoy a very nice scenic path that follows the... More

This is a land mark of this area. It is a long pier that has a beautiful view. You'll find a lot of people enjoying dipping their line in the water (i.e., fishing). There are two casual restaurant on the shore-end of the pier. It seems like most of the parking required payment.

A great way to see Ventura from the "other direction." Walk out on this wooden pier, once the longest wooden pier in California before a storm wiped out some of its length, turn around and see Ventura from a southwestern view not available anywhere else! Great place for a sunny-day walk!

Such an iconic landmark and a great little diversion from our 3-week road trip with a 3 year old who is going on 30. The only problem is that the area under the pier - where you have to pass if you want to go down to the beach - is populated by suspicious characters for families and smells like... More

Ventura needs to up their game concerning the pier and promenade. Especially the pier. I know that city officials have been aware of the problems in these areas for years, so they should do something about them. The promenade and bike path are one of my favorite places to run and bike. However, the homeless population has made the area... More

The pier provides a great view of the local ocean front and the Islands, although occasionally limit views due to ocean fog. Several very good restaurants in walking distance and the beach is right there.

Wonderful dinner at Aloha Steak House on the pier. Easy parking, beautiful views, great service, near downtown Ventura.

We enjoyed a very nice long walk along the shoreline on the paved path after dinner and it is very well maintained. The stacked rocks were pretty cool to see, and there were several dolphins off the shore, enjoyable walk. However, we were only there about an hour and had to pay $10 to park, I think that is a... This is longest wooden pier in U.S. But not much to do here. There's a good little taco stand and fish restaurant that looks expensive and a gift shop that wasn't open.
