I just got back from visiting Santa Cruz island for the first time, my actual first life camping experience to boot and Island Packers took me there. The Island Packers crew was extremely courteous, responsive, and helpful. We were a bit delayed on getting to the boat due to the so called "storm of the year" and they were very... More

I have taken several trips with Island Packers - in fact whenever I have visitors we take a trip to watch whales, hike the islands, or just see them from the boat. The staff and crew are very helpful and I recommend this attraction to anyone who wants to see the Channel Islands National Park up close. They also do... More

I have gone to Anacapa Island twice and both times I saw dolphins swim to the side of the boat as we were cruising and that was very cool. Island is pretty bare on top. No shore. Check prices beforehand. They have different location cruises. Whale watching is December to April.

It was a wonderful trip. 3:30 hours watching dolphins, orcas, sea lions, pelicans and seagulls. As well as we navigates on front of Anacapa and part of Santa Cruz island. The boat friendly personnel explained about these animals as well as the history of the islands in different occasions. They slow down the boat to let everybody see these incredible... More

I have been out on two excursions with IP. They are wonderful. The crew is top notch and very helpful. Boats are great. Each time out we saw lots of wildlife. One trip we stumbled on a pod of Killer Whales and hundreds of dolphins. Each time the goal for me was pelagic birding and I picked ip new birds... More

Have had four experiences (cruises) with Island Packers. We did the "whale watching" cruise in 2013, and three trips to two of the Channe Islands: Anacapa and Santa Cruz in 2014. In all four instances the vessels were modern, clean, and enjoyable whereas the staff could not have been more competent, informative and friendly. Anacapa is certainly worth visiting especially... I would suggest that one should go out to the islands and spend a few hours rather than the wildlife tour. Much of the wildlife tour is experienced on the ride out. We went out to Santa Cruz twice and Anacapa once within a week and had a good time. Its better to actually get on the islands and see... More

We did the day trip to Anacapa Island and had a great time. The staff was great, including on the way over the captain slowed for dolphins and told us a lot about the area. It was more like a tour boat ride. On the island we took the nature tour with another employee and she was fabulous. We had... More

Great trip out to Santa Cruz Island with Island Packers. Got to see a huge pod of common dolphins. Enjoyed a guided hike from Prisoner's Harbor to Pelican Bay - highly recommended! For trip details, see DavidLeeTravel.com

Last month we took a kayaking trip to Anacapa Island in the Channel Islands National Park off of California's central coast, and this past Labor Day weekend, we took another kayaking trip to Santa Cruz Island in the Channel Islands National Park. On both trips, Island Packers was the boat / ferry ride that we took, and on both occasions... More
