Great day trip to Santa Cruz Island. Boat was well equipped, and the captain very knowledgeful of the local area. Recommend to get off the boat at the first possible stop to get more time on the island.

Island Packers is basically providing round-trip transport, and they do a very creditable job of it. They also do their best to make the transit interesting, pointing out dolphins and whales when they appear -- even following them for a while to give you a chance at a memorable photo. The boats are fast catamarans, which means that the trip... More

We took 2 trips with these folks. Whale watching boat trip was very nice and we saw 5 whales and a huge frenzy of feeding dolphins. Very knowledgeable crew and naturalist. The boat is quite clean. The next day we took an all day trip to Santa Cruz Island. This was an amazing day. On the way the Captain spotted... More

Well organized, good schedules, convenient location in Ventura, informative and knowledgeable Captains on the boats, and the wonderful Channel Islands NP ` Cruise to and hike all and on Santa Cruz Island. SUPPORT THE PARKS AND THE CONCESSIONAEIRS who do a good job for us.

We had looked forward to visiting one of these unspoilt islands for months. We were not disappointed. The trips are well organised with ample, free parking. Campers and kayakers get to stow their gear first then join the queue to board the boat. As we wanted we were able to get two of the 51 seats available on the open... More

This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The crew on the charter boat, on which we took an hour-long ride out and back from the island, was excellent and friendly. I can't enough good things about our guide, Halli, who was very skilled and knowledgeable, and tailored our trip for us. I have almost no kayaking experience, and my daughter, while a... More

This is the concessionaire for boat transport to the Channel Islands National Park. We were on a day trip to Santa Cruz Island for an afternoon of kayaking. The boat was nice and well maintained, roomy and plenty of shade. We needed the shade even though it was March. The crew was well informed and knowledgeable of the channel waters... More

Island Packers is the official concessionaire to transport visitors to Channel Island National Park. They do a very good job. The operation is efficient, safety conscious and friendly. The boats are clean. The onboard food is very reasonably priced. The captain was both informative and funny. During the one hour trip to the island, they were alert for whales and... More

Good trip, nice channel island views and the crew made every effort. Successful day, we saw eight whales, but this is no luxury cruise! The boat rocks, water is rough and we never tried the food service (I don't think anyone was behind the counter). Also crew, volunteers and repeat guests get so excited about the whales you may get... More

While the hiking on Santa Cruz Island was the real highlight of the day, the ride there and back was an unexpected treat. The ride out there was filled with a lot of humor from the captain (he actually had everyone laughing out loud), slowing down for wildlife and a smooth ride. Coming back lacked some of the interaction from... More
