This is the longest pedestrian/bicyclists bridge of its kind anywhere and is a wonderful way to experience the Arkansas River and our 17-mile-long RiverWalk.

Wow. What a great place for walking and biking! It was November, so it was windy and chilly when we were there, but the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. We parked and walked across the bridge and back. There was an amazing view. If we get the chance and go back I would like to bring... More

It's a BIG **** bridge. I brought my family to visit from out of town and took a long walk off the short bridge to peer at the sites. We thought of bringing Lox and Bagels for lunch, but my kids couldn't stand the punishment. Next time they visit we'll try to find the "Little Rock" ...

Great incline with excellent views. If it's a nice day, it will be busy and hard to run with all of the walkers, bikers, and dogs. Watch out for dog poo because some people do not pick up after their animals.

The view, the mile long river crossing, the sun rise, and even better the sunset is wonderful. Just what the doctor ordered. A little bit of exercise with a little stress relief.

BDB is a nice walk with a great view and quite interesting as well. Watch barges navigate through the lock and catch the sunset as you stroll over the Arkansas River!

We visited with a teenager and a stroller baby it was so much fun going across and back again from one side, Little Rock to North Little Rock. There were so many people, it can get crowded. And it's very dog friendly so if you're scared of dogs that might be a problem. Everyone who has used this bridge that... More

While visiting friends, we decided to go out to the Big Dam Bridge for a family and friends outing. It was a great place to take a good walk and to just hang out with our friends. The scenery along the river was beautiful and I loved that they used the pieces cut out of the dam to install the... More

The Big Dam Bridge is the first of two bridges proposed and pushed through by Judge Buddy Vilines. It is an excellent starting point for cycling the north and south banks of the Arkansas River in Little Rock and North Little Rock. It is also the best place to see operations of the Murray Lock and Dam when barge traffic... More
