We felt like the River Market area was nice, but a bit overrated. Is fine as a restaurant area, but that's about all it is. Needs more shopping.

EXTREMELY difficult parking circumstances! The River Market in Little Rock is delightful and full of wonderful, unique surprises. With the addition of the Arcade, the experience is nonpareil! Ten Thousand Villages, The Freckled Frog, The Ron Robinson Theater venue, the Main Library, The Arkansas Studies Institute….THIS time, the re-development of the River Market area is going to soar…..the only caveat... I am amazed each time I stroll through the River Market district, it has come a long way in the last 20 years. It has something for everyone, farmers market, a wide variety of eating places with great food, plenty of entertainment, and fantastic educational venues with Stephens Nature Center, Clinton Library and Heifer International, and Museum of Discovery, just... Having been a Little Rock resident since the 1970s, I've watched its downtown River Market district (and Main Street "Cultural Corridor" with expanding spaces for the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Arkansas, etc.) evolve into a remarkable and unique area for both locals and tourists. However, many deprive themselves of enjoyment by failing to use legitimate online references... More

We visited the River Market District on a day they were having the farmers market. It was really neat to see what everyone had for sale. It was a very short walk from our hotel and we even got to see La Petite Roche! If you're in Little Rock you should stop by the River Market and see the rock... More

Years ago a group of people started developing the idea of revitalizing the downtown Little Rock region. They have had a number of shops and restaurants come and go, and at this point many have survived, but the area is somewhat limited on selection and quality. It is still worth the trip, since it is very close to fine hotels,... More

The River Market is a wonderful place to visit. It offers a divers experience in food, entertainment, and cultural experiences. While there you can visit an art gallery, kids museum, and the Clinton Library by day and enjoy great food and live music at night.

The River Market has it all: Hotels, shopping, restaurants, and the Clinton Library. If you are visiting, you should definitely see it. There are many dining choices--from inexpensive to very upscale, and many quirky unusual shopping venues. In seasonal weather, the farmers' market is open Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. You can walk to the Clinton Library, or you can... More
