We didn't use the hop on hop off bus, there was no hopping, that's for sure. They are packed and long lines of people are always waiting to get on. We used city buses with easy to purchase metro cards. While the New York subways are much more difficult to navigate than the tube is in London, the buses are... More

We bought a 3 day Hop on Hop off bus pass in conjunction with the NY Pass. Reading the online descriptions, we got the impression that the buses are covering a lot of different routes and could be used as an alternative to the Subway. We were wrong: * all are very crowded and it is difficult to find any... More

If you're looking to learn about the city, the buildings, the boroughs, this is what you want to take. There are alot of Citysights NY buses going around. We took 5 different buses. The difference is the guide. 4 of them were very good. The other one... lousy. Which made us decide to go off that bus and wait for... More

If you want ride around New York in a filthy bus being screamed at by an ignorant person called Hose who can't even do his fly up then this could be the tour for you. Hose stopped the bus in Brooklyn in the scorching sun for half and hour so he and the driver Fred could smoke and everyone could... More

Worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and I hope to warn as many potential customers as possible. I bought reserve tickets for a tour of washington, dc and after waiting an hour along side the bus was told that the tour driver had disappeared. The people representing the tour could not issue us refunds. An... More

I have bought bus tickets for NY Woodbury Common Outlets online. It was easy redeeming them from Madame Tussauds lobby. I have saved nearly 30 dollars by online purchase and had no bad experience.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
