Got us where we wanted to be. Just about.

Well at least unlike some people when we went in September 2014 there weren't great queues or the risk of not getting back on a bus because it was full except once but we did... read more

We choose GreyLine after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and speaking to friends who used Grey Line in other cities. I was so looking forward to seeing NYC with Grey Line. The downtown tour started off great, the tour guide was amazing and very informative but that is where it stopped. We got off the bus to visit the... More

We have enjoyed various trips with CitySights NY. Always thought it was worth it and maybe that why we don't seek for other possibilities

It was fun! Even though the weather did not cooperate on teh first day, nothing can stop tourist from seeing the streets of NY. For a solo flight tourist, 48 hours was more than enough. You get to see the whole of NY and learn something about the places you either pass by or stop over. The bus readily gives... More

Enjoyed the trip however I wish it was easier to get the tickets. We had a difficult time trying to see The Statue of LIberty.

Second time on these buses and just as good! Prefer the downtown one as more sights. No Larry Love this time which was disappointing but the tour operator we had was very good. Last time we came in the autumn and it was soooo cold. So it was nice to be in the sun this time!

Well at least unlike some people when we went in September 2014 there weren't great queues or the risk of not getting back on a bus because it was full except once but we did squeeze in. As other people have commented, part of the problem is that while there are seats downstairs you can't see anything if you sit... More

In general, the loops are really good and you can see a lot of places. What I found negative was the waiting time in the stations. For the upper loop, the bus was always full and there were not enough buses in that direction.

Used this company for Woodbury commons bust trip, if using the bust to Woodbury, going out is fine, bust coming back at the end of the day (9pm) expect long lines. I ended up taking alternative transportation back. CitySights NY is hard to find on 42nd Street as it is located in the Lobby of Madame Tussauds. Got there eventually....

We didn't use the hop on hop off bus, there was no hopping, that's for sure. They are packed and long lines of people are always waiting to get on. We used city buses with easy to purchase metro cards. While the New York subways are much more difficult to navigate than the tube is in London, the buses are... More

We bought a 3 day Hop on Hop off bus pass in conjunction with the NY Pass. Reading the online descriptions, we got the impression that the buses are covering a lot of different routes and could be used as an alternative to the Subway. We were wrong: * all are very crowded and it is difficult to find any... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
