Superb seating. Not only is the performance important -- and everything I've seen at this theater has been terrific -- but the seating is THE most comfortable in NYC. Plenty of leg room and the theater is properly angled down so that even a tall person in front of you isn't a problem. Excellent sound. All around -- my favorite... More

I love Neil Labute's movies, and was thrilled to go see a play of his. Really enjoyed this--funny and raunchy! I must say, the actor that played the character Bev was phenomenal. She really stood out above the rest!

We love sharing in the MCC productions and the one "Reasons To Be Happy" did not disappoint us. It was a bit dramatic and emotionally focused--- so probably won't make it to Broadway. Nirvana as the soundtrack seemed to work well, although some of the audience found it to be too loud. A really nice theatrical venue right in the... More

Every summer, TheatreworksUSA's Free Summer Theater program offers free tickets to see a family musical at the Lortel Theater mid-July through mid-August! The shows are beautifully produced, professionally acted, and fun for the whole family. What must have started out as a revenge fantasy for Stephen King (who, I'm sure, got more than his share of teasing in his youth) has morphed into a pleasingly raucous musical at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. One look at the door in the back, and you know you're seeing every high school gym you've ever visited. Derek Klena, cast... More

Worth the trip to NYC. I came.. I saw.. I enjoyed. Creatively staged and worth it.

No matter when you go to NY you can be sure there will be a consistent play on this theater. After you get carried away with emotions enjoy a late dinner at the Asian /Australian restaurant Betel just around the corner.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
