Our tour guide was a blast. He knew people everywhere, he played music as we walked down the street, and he seemed to know an incredible amount of history. I learned so much and had an incredible time. If you're visiting New York, or even if you're from New York, this is a must do!
My siblings and I did the Taste of Harlem tour, which we all agreed was a highlight of our visit to NYC. Our guide, Neal, was knowledgeable and engaging, and told us so much about the history and culture of Harlem as we walked. We ate at four different spots during our tour, and each spot served as a prompt...

I can to NY on a field study with several other teachers in a program offered for secondary social studies teachers in central PA. When we first net our tour guide, Neal, he caught my attention immediately with his passion and love for Harlem history. I have never been to Harlem, and being from central PA- I had no idea...

First let me say. I loved this tour. Recently my daughter and I visited beautiful Harlem for the first time. Our guide, Neil was amazing. His passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm for Harlem was never dampened even in the rain. As we walked through the various communities he used jazz as a means to convey the feel and mood of the...

The Taste of Harlem tour was a trip highlight for my mother and me. Our tour guide, Neil, was not only knowledgable, but he demonstrated such pride and passion for Harlem, past and present. There is just something so nice about being shown a city by someone who is really connected to it; someone who shares more than just what...

What an amazing time we had walking along with Neil. He is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about the city: he's very articulate and absolutely a pleasure to listen to. He carries an ipad attached to his arm and some speakers...and when he played wonderful classic music (Holiday. Fitzgerald, etc) to match the sights of Harlem, I loved to watch...

What makes this tour as good as it is is the enthusiasm of the tour operator (Neil), and some of the different things that you do. The Baptist Church service and the Apollo Theatre tours are terrific. Between these the content is a little 'disjointed' and superficial. Deeper insights into the culture and history of Harlem would help. Additionally, Neil...

Me and the wife had the pleasure of taking this tour. We are from Texas and this was our first visit to NY. This tour right here is the best hands down. They take you to visit monumental landmarks in Harlem with in depth information history and the best part for me is the music they have blasting of the...

I had been on this tour several years ago and enjoyed it. Friends from out of town wanted to go now so I went. I loved it again. I wanted to support local entrepreneurs, which Harlem Heritage Tours are. They are very knowledgeable and personable.
The gospel service was very moving. Not only was the singing first rate, but the...
