We have been to NYC so many times and wanted to do something we had not experienced. The Harlem tour was interesting and our tour guide was so cute at 82 years young! Andy was great! It is an inexpensive tour and last around 2 hours. Our only minus was that we wished he had left his politics out of... More

Thanks so much for bringing civil rights to life. Star ratings don't seem adequate for how much I enjoyed the tour. The information was truly comprehensive and delivered by our host Neal with a passionate understanding of the legacy. I got a special thrill as Neal was speaking right across the street from the where Malcolm X used to preach... More

Originally, we booked the Taste of Harlem tour but, due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to change to the next day's Civil Rights Walking Tour. They handled the change seamlessly and when we arrived, we found we were the only ones going on the tour. Such luck as we had Andy all to ourselves. The tour morphed from... More

Wonderful guides and surroundings that brings Harlem and the freedomfighters from before out in brighter lights. A lot of positive things happens in Harlem right now. When you are there - also visit the Gospel tour! More

We booked this on the spur of the moment from our hotel room and were so glad we did. The three best things were - it's a tour that's run by people FROM Harlem, not outsiders trying to cash in and these guys LOVE their neighbourhood (Andy was amazing) - the opportunity to attend part of a Baptist Gospel service... Andi and Neil provided an emphatic, emotional, authentical and overwhelming tour through a rapidly changing Harlem. We appreciate their activities to kind of preserve cultural harlem and were impressed of their knowledge and friendliness. W from Germany More

I study at Columbia Journalism school and went on a walking tour of Harlem with my class. It was a great experience where we were able to learn about the history, culture of the neighborhood, but also felt like we were a part of it. Neal's approach was very inclusive and warm, you could feel that he was really passionate... More

My daughter and I went on the Civil Rights History tour and found it to be not just informative but very enjoyable. Our guide was Andi. We both agreed that meeting Andi alone would have been worth the cost of the tour. Andi has lived in Harlem since 1958 and is quite enamored of his neighborhood. He was there when... More
