The most amazing view. We did this and the Empire State, and I would recommend this over the Empire State in every way. The staff were much friendly and it felt a lot less like you were on a conveyor belt and its half the price. We went up at night and the lights were fantastic

We went there just before 9 pm. There was still some light, so we could see NYC during daylight and after dark in the one visit. It was great.

We went up on Monday and absolutely loved it. Very slick queuing, staff really friendly. The views were fabulous. Go straight up to the upper decks for Perspex free pictures!!! Definitely a must in NYC

What a beautiful view of the skyline straight from the top..Since it is not fenced unlike empire state..the views are much better here and we went at dusk not night so the buildings were clear enough..the escalator was quick ..and there wasn't any queue lucky us so there was hardly any waiting..the architecture is so beautiful not to forget the... The best thing to do in New York is just look at it, not as high as Empire state but almost feels more realistic as you feel closer to the life below. Also was nowhere nears as busy as Empire state observation was with chance to sit down and take in the views.

Called in to pick up our NY City Passes and as there were no queues to speak of we decided to head up to the observation deck there and then. It was 3:30pm and we were soon on our way up to the top of the building. Plenty of staff on hand to help with anything we needed and all... More

We decided on Top of the Rock from reading reviews here and were not disappointed! TotR has views of both Central Park to the north and downtown to the south all the way to the One World Trade Center. We decided to go up around dusk to get the most out of our ticket. We weren't the only ones with... More

I know going in this is a tourist spot so it's going to be busy. My boyfriend and I went around dusk when it was just starting to get dark, during the middle of the week. The side of the building that faces the Empire State Building was packed and the side that faces Central Park is pretty crowded too.... More

We really enjoyed the view. All staff members were friendly. Worth the trip up. Only thing I would change would be the length of time we waited.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
