Visited at night time. Called in and got the ticket but had 3.5 hours to kill, so book in advance. View is great and you can see Empire State building which you obviously can't from the Empire State. Cold at night with a strong wind. Gift shop prices are a Joke.

My daughter and I came for her 15th birthday. It was an amazing view of the city. Cut short due to a rain storm. But absolutely beautiful.

If Red Bull gives you wings, Top of the Rock gives you Bird's-eye! Take amazing photos on the observation deck (get to the highest floor without the glass wall!). Set your iphone to "Pana" to capture even more!

We went to the Top of the Rock on a relatively cloudy day. We still felt like the views were spectacular, although it was very cold and windy at the top. The elevator ride was smooth and easy, and the staff was helpful and friendly.

Top of the rock offer an amazing viewpoint and easy to get to. The whole process is pretty straight forward. No need to crowd around the entrance. There is plenty of time and space up there. Worth the money for the view.

I really enjoyed the Rock, even more than the Empire State Building. I found the exhibition more interesting, and the staff were very friendly too. I guess it also helps that it wasn't as busy. Would strongly recommend you include this on your sightseeing list on New York

The view is astonishing our recommendation is to visit top of the rock night to see the empire state building lighten up but the service is extremely poor. First of all they are giving you a ticket for entering after 1-2 hours depending on the queues. Independently that we did have also a new york pass also. Furthermore if you... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
