Visited top of the Rock recently cost was $27, this was in my opinion good value there are 3 viewing area's at different levels. There are places to sit at the viewing area's, the security is airport style but in this day and age you would expect that. I enjoyed this experience more than the Empire State.

You have to do this once in your lifetime. We went during the day and it was hot but the views are amazing. Good view of the Empire state building and central park. If I had a redo, Id go at night.

We bought combination tickets for Moma and Top of The Rock for savings. We went at 10:30 pm and luckily were able to go up in about half an hour by the time we purchased tickets. Provides the best view of Manhattan. Better than the Empire State building as you can see Central Park from here. Also you get to see the Empire State Building in the skyline, something you obviously wouldn't be able to do if you were on it.

We were here one night after sunset and the view is spectacular. There is a 360 degree view around the top so you can see the whole city. Don't miss this spot!

Much much better than empire state, and much better organised. It could be easier to navigate the Rockafella Centre but you need to book your time slot in one place and then go across the hall when your time arrives to go up to the top of the rock. Top of the Rock is less crowded and more affordable than the Empire State Building. While I like both, Top of the Rock allowed a more leisurely view of Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, AND the Empire State Building. We made many wonderful photos too.
