A visit to the Top of the Rock should definitely be one of the must-do's on your visit to NYC! The timed tickets are hassle-free and the place, despite all the crowds, is very well-managed. There is a small informative exhibit as you enter the building. The lift is great fun and you can feel your pulse racing as you... More

Good views in all directions. Wind screens to make the cold bearable. Efficient handling of the crowds. The most attractive part of the experience for me. however, is that while I am very afraid of heights, the stone makes me feel secure and able to enjoy the experience without my fear of heights taking over. I also don't get the... More

From my entire trip to New York, this was my personal favorite. The view is impressive, you can see the entire skyline from here. There's a great view of the Empire State building, with the financial district behind it. Plus a superb view of the Central Park. The elevator to the 89th floor is sort of Disney-ish. You have a... If you have an NY pass, do the Rockefeller Centre (architecture) tour first, you get to skip the line! Beautiful views from the top, well worth a visit!

Absolutely recommended to anyone visiting NYC! In my opinion this is the best observation deck in New York, even better than the Empire State Building. I went to the top at night and i was amazed by the stunning view on the top. Despite the cold, i just kept taking pictures for half an hour and it totally worth the... More

I hate heights but felt that I had come all this way so had to do it. Views are brilliant, can see for miles. Next time would like to go at sunset.

I bought a combo ticket for MoMA and Top of the Rock which is better value if you want to visit both places. There's a choice between Top of the Rock or Empire State building so it's your call. I've been to both and I'd recommend both. Top of the Rock has amazing views of Central Park, you can see... More

Last went up 5 years ago, this time went with 3 couples, 4 of whom hadnt been before. Great to see that the views lived up to what I had told them. Went up at approx 6pm to try and catch the sunset but too cold so we stayed up there for approx 45 mins. Great pictures and my friends... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
