Almond Amaretto Bundt Cake cut into quarters for sale – the perfect size for a couple to each have a few slices and rich with flavor. We Also perused the prepared foods and settled on the stuffed cabbage ready to go when we got home. It was a delicious dinner two nights later along with some side dishes also from... More

Zabar's has been expanding since it's early days in the 1930's. They are on the same corner at Broadway and W. 80th St. Why cook when you can take out the delicious food from Zabar's. Although the food is not kosher it presents a New York style food which includes wonderful smoked fishes. If you want a local flavor just... More

Zabar's is well worth the trip to 80th street!!! The grocery is amazing with a COMPLETE cheese shop. The pastries are wonderful (try the crumb cake!!). Upstairs is a VERY crowded kitchen store that is worth getting lost in for as long as you can!!!

This is billed as New York's oldest grocery store. It started in 1934 and this is its 80th year. This place is almost a whole block long. I can't begin to really describe it you really have to experience it . I go the for the fresh baked pastries and they have the best selection of gourmet cheese that I... More

Loved the store, had wonderful foods at fair price. Ate in deli, and was unclean. Found hair on my plate. Wound up with stomachache after eating here, so beware. Maybe get the food from the grocery part and make yourself at home!

My husband and I have been shopping at Zabar's for more than 30 years. Although I live in CT, I still go to Zabar's about a dozen times a year or more. There have been periods of my life when we visited weekly. We have had our coffee, delicious Kona, delivered fresh from Zabar's for years and years. Zabars is... More

You might look at all of these reviews and ask "What's the deal? It's just a grocery store". That's technically true. Zabar's is a just a grocery store like New York is just a city. You will find (at affordable prices) a wide assortment of cheeses, meats, prepared foods, coffee, tea, spices, chocolate, and baked goods here. These are perfect... More

There are grocery stores, there are super markets, and then there is Zabar's. Zabar's has everything you could wish to find in the best grocery store, including fresh fruit, delicious cooked food, the best bagels and rye bread, lox, fish (oh, that marinated salmon!), whitefish salad, the best in the world butternut squash soup, cakes and pastries and, of course,... If you are in NYC then a visit to Zabars is definitely worth it. We always stock up on coffee (Zabar's blend) plus the pastries (try the cinnamon Rugelach it is excellent!) when we are in NYC. If you want hot food then they have a hot food counter next door to the deli where you can get bagels, pastrami... More

Superb selection of gourmet delicacies. Cheeses are amazing and less pricey than the same varieties at other gourmet or cheese shops. Terrific zabars blend coffee, a wide variety of hand sliced smoked fish, nice bagels, good selection of breads including their famous rye bread. Prepared foods are not my favorite-- but try a hot pastrami sandwich to go, take it... More
