Zabar's is like a black hole to me: Once inside, it is very hard to get back out. If I make it to the top floor where all the kitchen gadgets are, I cannot leave with a handful of things that I do not need, but really, really want. The selection is incredible. Downstairs is a treat to all senses... More

I've been to Zabar's a number of times and it is always good, the cheese blintzes are the best around. The café is quite small and always busy but that adds to the atmosphere. The upper west side location is a nice spot and worth a diversion from the natural history museum or Central Park.

Been going here since it was a little store in the 70s... Excellent food.... Always fresh... They have grown both on the block but also in what they offer. From the best imported cheeses to delicious meats and breads. Stop in for lunch or take some home.

The downstairs is filled with delicious food and a lot of prepared items as well as fruit, pasta, etc. Upstairs is an amazing store of kitchen items. It must have everything and then some. Next door is a small cafeteria where you can get a sandwich and a cup of coffee.

Local deli serving a huge variety of bagels among other Jewish specialities. Reasonably priced and cosy bench style tables full of locals.

My favorite store in the city. Keep your trendy, fashionable "foodie" hangouts (puhleez, who came up with the term "foodie", seriously)... Zabar's has everything. The old-school atmosphere is non-ironic, just quintessential New York. Take in the sights, incredible smells, sample Whatever they offer u, because it will be of the highest quality. Best salmon, prepared dishes to die for. Ask... More

Let me say first that this is about the cafe, and not the food store. The cafe connected to Zabar's is just not up to snuff. I am all for some things not changing-but in this case, there is more decline here than "for old time's sake". The food here is not always what it should be, and the staff... More

It took me too long to find out about this place. Had an amazing breakfast right there and then. Heated chocolate croissant is a must have dish!

I cannot speak for the deli but we visited the cafe for breakfast. Without a doubt this was one of the worst breakfasts I've ever had. Want a bagel with lox and some accoutrements such as lettuce or tomato? No can do....bagels with lox come pre-wrapped with salmon only and can't be amended. What at first appeared to be delicious...
