If you are in NYC then a visit to Zabars is definitely worth it. We always stock up on coffee (Zabar's blend) plus the pastries (try the cinnamon Rugelach it is excellent!) when we are in NYC. If you want hot food then they have a hot food counter next door to the deli where you can get bagels, pastrami... More

Superb selection of gourmet delicacies. Cheeses are amazing and less pricey than the same varieties at other gourmet or cheese shops. Terrific zabars blend coffee, a wide variety of hand sliced smoked fish, nice bagels, good selection of breads including their famous rye bread. Prepared foods are not my favorite-- but try a hot pastrami sandwich to go, take it... More

Planning on going to the city on a Sunday and want to new attraction then get your shopping bag and mosey on down to Zabar's. Most likely you have been there before if you are a New Yorker. If you are a tourist then it is worth your while to go there after you have seen the other NYC attractions.... More

We try to get to Zabar's every time we get to NYC. Great baked goods. Amazing variety and quality. Second floor has all kinds of kitchen gadgets, etc. We brought an empty carry-on bag and filled it up with all kinds of goodies. No problem going through security at La Guardia.

I live 80 minutes away from NYC but always manage to make a trip to the Upper West Side just to shop in Zabar's. The aisles are narrow and crowded and hard to walk around without bumping into someone but definitely worth that inconvenience. I love their coffee, breads and baked goods. If you're looking for a large selection of... More

There are a lot of grocery stores and bakery in New York City and Zabar's is one of those stores that you would remember and would want to come back. The bakery is a really good stop for breakfast and lunch, the store itself has a lot of selection of cheeses and breads. It's hard to say that this is... More

We munched on everything bagels with cream cheese alongside locals reading their morning papers. I felt like a new yorker for a quick, tasty breakfast. The coffee wasn't bad either.

This casual quality market has the most variety of cheeses, I love the fish and the bread. I had a cup of coffee at the coffee shop. I enjoyed the feta and spinach croissant. Great food!!!

Went to Zab as today for their delicious ruggalach. The chocolate ones are the best. Freeze them and eat them cold. Mmmm. Their potato knish's are kobe made and delicious too. An experience . Go....

Zabar's is a New York classic and a must stop for visitors and locals. I'm sure those in charge of Eataly picked up some ideas from Zabar's. You'll find the best smoked salmon, cheese, crackers and deli needs for yourself or for your next part. I love the market, but the deli needs a bit of work. The deli is... More
