If you go to New York, you gotta go to Zabar's! Not only is it the best deli anywhere in terms of cheese, meats, breads but it has a wonderful kitchen equipment department on the second floor, selling everything from a simple spatula to sophisticated cappucino machines. The staff is knowledgeable and will guide you to whaterever you are looking... More

It an amazing store for foodies located on the upper west side.It is a Jewish delicatessen with a great selection of cheeses, breads, prepared food to bring it to Central Park to enjoy. Every time I am in New York I buy their chocolate babka and fresh orange juice. I love to come here on Sun. As they are open early... More

We had already ordered Zabar's gift-baskets online to send to friends and family in NYC, and these were so successful, and so well received, that the anticipation was at bursting-point when I recently got to New York and a chance for a "hands-on" experience at this temple of pastrami. I grabbed a couple of seats at the modest eating counter... More

Zabar's is a New York institution and you really should make the effort to go and visit. No only is it a deli, but you can also find some quite unusual kitchen gadgets on the upper floor. Downstairs is a haven, and sometimes a puzzle to the senses, as you negotiate your way through the hugest cheese selection I've ever... More

I've been to NYC many times and I'd never visited Zabar's until my last visit. This place is a food emporium like no other and the food (and presentation) is amazing. I am so sorry I missed the upstairs part of the market, where based on other reviews, unique cookware is available. If you want to bring home a real... More

Besides the great, and wide selection of food both ready to eat and groceries it has an upper floor with high quality cookware. Some are unusual and remarkably useful, buy a mayonaisse spatula. The baked goods are terrific so if you're a day traveler like we are usually bring some zip lock bags.

Zabar’s is a wonderful specialty food market. I had delicious quiche from their ‘diner’ next door and Zabar’s brand fresh orange juice for breakfast and both were fabulous. I also enjoyed the curry chicken salad and the Mediterranean salad from the deli. The best part for me was browsing the housewares section on the second floor. If you like to... More

From the moment I walked in I felt like I was in Heaven. The delicious smell of the olives hits you as soon as you enter the store. I could have spent several hours there. Unfortunately I had only one to spare. They have every kind of food know to man. Next time I will make sure that I have... More

Came to Zabar's cafe after seeing it recommended in a guide book. My boyfriend and I both had a huge slice of pizza with drink and shared a black and white cookie. It was really good food and everything came to $10! The Zabar's shop looked very good f you need to buy food to take home.

There's Zabar's! And then there's Zabar's! This Upper West Side food emporium is not like any other anywhere. I recently took a friend from Virginia there and we spent 2 hours moving about this relatively small, but exquisite food store featuring bagels, lox, sturgeon, whitefish, and every kind of smoked fish imaginable. There is an amazing selection of ordinary, yet... More
