I went here to buy a new electric guitar. I have used "Guitar Centre" shops in Manhattan and Queens before and been satisfied. But I read that Sam Ash gives you better service, so as a visitor I tried it out. I was not over impressed. I had telephoned them prior and enquired about the guitar I was interested in,... More

Went to buy a violin and the people at Sam Ash were so patient and accomodating. Not giving 5 stars because I don't think I got expert help, but rather was left to rummage myself. I appreciate low pressure sales, but this might be too low.

I mean everything! You need, they have it. I went there many times looking for some mouth piece for my cousin in Brazil. They are very attentive, great service.

Large store, great selection, Eric was very patient with us and very passionate and knowledgable. Thanks for your help. They even held the items for us untill we shopped elsewhere and got back to collect them. Their prices are lower than B&H nextdoor too.

I went there to look around and got out with an all American Telecaster:-) great service, I felt really taken care of and the salesman let me try whatever I wanted. I would recommend going there just to look at all the great guitars! Don't forget floor 2 with all the acoustic ones as well.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
