Gorgeous church in the heart of Little Italy

Tucked away in Little Italy and worth the search. Gorgeous church with amazing history. Definitely worth the visit and peacefully quiet prayer space

Although renovations have been going on for a few years now, you must stop to visit this landmark Cathedral. Its peaceful, historic & just breathtaking. Do yourself a favor and when in NYC go in say a pray for all of us and light a candle!

St. Patricks is not to be missed. However, when we were there, it was under construction, so it was a bit of a distraction. But don't let that stop you from visiting. There is still lots of beauty shining through all that scaffolding.

When I visited in July 2013, the Cathedral had just begun an extensive restoration project. Security in the building said the project would take roughly 3 years to complete. At the time, there was scaffolding being raised all over the inside - but it didn't detract from the absolutely STUNNING architecture. I HIGHLY recommend a visit to this Cathedral, if... More

A beautiful church with much to see. I brought my Mom to NYC and her favorite part of the trip as a faithful 83 year old Catholic was to be able to attend Mass and receive the Eucharist at this church. Mass times seem to be all morning long, and ushers ensure that visitors are respectful of this.

My third Christmas visiting and having noon mass. Much more work going on than in years past, and if feels though they're rounding the corner on all the work. One she's completed, I'm sure she'll be as magnificent as ever. One simply cannot leave without feeling peace.

Many reviews on here seem to be for the newer St Patricks up on 5th Avenue near the Rockefeller Center. The Saint Patricks on 5th Avenue is the newer church. The OLD St Patricks is on Mulberry Street, in the heart of traditional Little Italy on the Lower East Side of New York and is nowhere near Rockefeller Center. This... More

It is a great area to walk around in as there are many boutiques and restaurants. Very trendy now. Can combine it with a walk up from a visit to Chinatown. We usually do that. Great Church to see as rumor has it that it might noe be around for long.

It is a pretty church, if a bit difficult to find at first...The window at the front is amazing and it reflects wonderfully on the floor of the sanctuary

One of the nicest looking churches in Lower Manhattan. Worth a visit. Gorgeous interior. There are many other lovely churches in Manhattan, but most are not always open. This one is likely to be open.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
