This review is of the show On The Twentieth Century, now playing in the American Airlines Theater. Cannot say enough positive things about the performance, which was one of three we fit in over a long weekend visit to the city. Kristen Chenoweth is beyond phenomenal with her operatic voice and superb acting. Peter Gallagher held his own, which is... More

this review is of the theater itself. We were in row N orchestra. Plenty of leg room in this row as well as wide enough seats. Beautiful theater not too large. Great sight lines.

We saw the play "The Real Thing" here with friends. The play was good but the theater itself was very nice. It was a smaller theater and our seats in back left orchestra still had great views. There were plenty of restrooms (especially for women). The only downside was that there weren't enough bar tenders at intermission so we couldn't... More

What a lovely theatre. I am sure there cannot be a bad seat in the house. We collected our tickets at the box office and were dealt with very efficiently. The theatre was a great temperature for viewing the play, and the seats are very comfortable. We saw The Real Thing. A great play, with a great cast. Thoroughly enjoyable... More

This play was the Pulitzer for Drama last year. It was gripping, timely, and well-performed. Themes of religious fears (Islam, Judaism), prejudices, secrets, understanding of self and family. We were shaken to the core. We sat in first row of balcony. Got tix for $89 through Telecharge.

I recently saw a production of Violet the musical starring the amazingly talented Sutton Foster. The theatre is a lovely size and I was fortunate enough to have front row mezzanine seats so my view was fantastic and completely unobstructed. The sound within the venue is great and they host some fantastic productions. Would definitely book there again :)

Unfortunately, that is in 4 days (Sunday, August 10th). My wife and I saw the matinee yesterday and it is not to be missed. The range of musical genres covered, the quality of the music, ensemble voices and particularly the two leads (Sutton Foster and Joshua Henry) are exemplary. Knew next to nothing about this coming into the theater and... More

Have seen many Broadway and Westend shows including several starring Sutton Foster and I was looking forward to seeing her again in Violet but the whole show was a major disappointment. Violet was supposed to be disfigured but no stage makeup to depict this, just left to one's imagination. Very basic staging, no memorable music in fact the whole show... More

Compared to many Broadway houses this theater is luxurious. According to the information provided by Playbill the theater was built just before 1920 but was renovated by the Roundabout theatre company in the 1990s. The inside is beautiful. The tonality is very warm and the seats are very comfortable. There is large lobby and several lounges. The sight lines and... More

This was a very good show. Sutton Foster's talents aren't fully utilized in the show but she was still great. The rest of the cast is excellent as well. The seats were a bit cramped.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
