I've been watching The Daily Show for years, so knew that it was something I wanted to see while I was in NY. I'd researched it all beforehand, and set up an alert through a third party twitter account to notifiy me when tickets became available. After reading the advice which had been posted already, I showed up at the... More

In the interest of full-disclosure we are Jon Stewart fans... Getting a ticket for the show is all about timing on-line and requires a little bit of work on your part because the show is so popular. Once you're able to "get them" the adventure begins - you should plan on making a day of it. We arrived in the... More

Love The Daily Show. Love Jon Stewart. Don't care for all the lines, but it comes with the territory. Be prepared, you have to come early to parlay your reservation into a ticket. DO appreciate and enjoy how much work Jon and the entire team put into making this show happen! They work on it and tweak it not only... More

I have been watching the Daily Show for a decade, and we took an opportunity to see a live show (along with the Colbert Report). The process was fairly transparent - get a reservation, stand in line for a few hours, and laugh and enjoy the show. We were told people begin to line up "as early as 1pm". We... More

We managed to book tickets about 7 weeks ahead of our trip to NYC and thanks to some tips from fellow Trip Advisors, had an idea of how to plan the day. Because all shows are overbooked, you need to get in line well before 2:30 when tickets are actually issued. We arrived at 12:30 and were 75th and 76th... More

Pro: - It's free - You get to see Jon Stewart - There's no bad seat - Very organized and clean Con: - 3-5 hour of wait time for 45 min of actual show (30 min of taping, 15 min of warm-up and Q&A) - bring a chair or stool if you are coming with any elders - hard to... More

This was such a treat! Our son and daughter-in-law did the reserving online for the FREE tickets, and stood in line for us to reserve again, then we came back with them and picked up our tickets at about 3:15. You can't pick up tickets for someone else, you must be there in person and show ID. Then they tell... More

We fortunately had VIP tickets so didn't need to get there too early, but even if we had to book online in advance and wait in line for x hours it would have been worth the wait. Opening comedian was really funny (very edgy). Jon Stewart came out prior to the taping for a Q+A session, and it was hilarious.... More

To see a live show is incredible and this is the one too see. Excellent from start to finish. From the door guy handing out tickets, to the seating, to the crowd warmer and so on. Very efficient crew and staff that make the experience great. Very professional. Loved the time that John Stewart came out and talked and took... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
