We found this and booked it by accident. Best mistake ever. The venue small and intimate, perfect for stand up comedy. All 5 comedians and the host were hilarious. Would ge here again every time I'm in NYC.

We stumbled upon it by chance, and went in w/o actually know much. This is what I was expecting from NYC -- the *real thing*. Sharp, outspoken comedians. If you sit in the front you will be taken for a ride. I received a good dose of NY slang cause I took out my phone to look at the menu,... More

Absolutely loved this place!!! I've never laughed so hard in my life !! Even thou we were seating next to the stage and we were the ones they were picking on to... It was by far the best night we spent in NYC !!! Couldn't stop talking about it for days!! still can't!! Will definitely go back every time we... More

Was there last Saturday night, this being our second visit. Good points, drinks were nice with good amount of alcohol in them, our waiter was attentive enough and most of the comedy was decent, apart from some of it being lazy, racist humour. Bad points, we were sat right underneath the air conditioner and it was absolutely freezing. i had... More

The Cellar is small but an awesome place to see comedy--very intimate. Especially if you can go on a Monday or Tuesday--you'll get to see about 6 comics at the top of their game for like $12. The prices for beers are not outrageous for NYC either. I usually don't eat there but the food comes from the restaurant above... More

I had heard about this place from a few friends and decided to go during our recent visit. We made reservations on-line about a week before and I recommend this as it was packed. There staff do a great job of herding everyone in and service inside was very good as well. We went to the 8:45 show and the... More

The line-up online is a rough draft of who may actually show up. If a big name shows up off the street to practice their new material, the Comdey Cellar will let them perform. This was the case when Kevin Nealon showed up on Firday night and Aziz Ansari on Sunday night. We had a blast and Juda Freelander is... More

Nothing special about the place or the food, just great stand up every night. Make sure to get reservations early if you are visiting from out of town. We were pressed right up against the stage, it was great. We saw the 10:30pm show Saturday night and saw an unexpected set from Amy Schumer.

It's a cellar so very small and crammed. Intimate would be a kinder description. As others have said, sit at the front and you'll be a gift to the acts (as we were). The comedians we mostly all very good. If you were there last night I was the eponymous "Tarquin Smythson Fortesque".
