Strange to report that the acts and comedy at the Comedy Cellar on the eve we visited were actually less than mediocre.... pretty crappy actually. However, and hopefully you've read this far.... I would not hesitate and will certainly go again. I've/We've been to the 'Cellar a bunch of times and had wonderful laugh filled nights each and every time...... More

First things first, making a reservation here comes with **a lot** of rules. They send you a full page email of everything you must and absolutely must NOT do, in advance. This can be a bit foreboding. But, get past that, and you are in for a huge treat. Last night (Thu 28 Aug) the show was the top highlight... More

Best stand up comedy I've been, very cheap. Make reservations with time. You are going to laugh every minute in there.

We were lucky to be placed on a standby list and then able to get in for a show. The comedians were awesome, prices were completely reasonable and we had a lot of fun. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation - staying around waiting to find out if you're going in on standby is a bit boring, but well worth... More

We went to the cellar after booking well in advance for a Tuesday night show, the earliest available. We were greeted by a frantic but efficient crew of waitstaff and ushers who sat us at a corner jam packed with a lot of other patrons. We were told about the two item minimum and went a out ordering some drinks... More

If you are visiting NYC this place is a must! We had a fantastic night. The talent was great. I would definitely go again. The food wasn't great but we didn't really go there to eat. We went to the original location. Go! Laugh! Enjoy!

you never know what you are going to get. Comedy club can be very hit or miss depending on the night and your sense of humor. Fortunately, last night was a hit! Not only did we get Aziz Ansari we also got Ray Ramano to perform for us, along 2 other very solid comedians. The service was great, very quick... More

Booked on line for a 10.30 Saturday show. Tickets were a good price and you also needed to buy two drinks for the cover (they check your receipt on the way out). The drinks were well priced but we didn't try the food. The venue is small and intimate and a great place to see comics. We arrived about 25... More

We go to comedy clubs just about everywhere we travel and this was very different than most. Even if you make a reservation well in advance, make sure you show up at least a half hour before show time to get in line. Although we had made reservation weeks ahead and was the third party in line our seats were... More

The place was perfect - low ceilings, dark, cramped and small stage in the front. I reserved tickets on line without having to pay for them. We were seated in front and there were plenty of people at the door waiting to get in. The 6 comedians that performed were all very funny. This is a difficult task at a... More
