We were lucky to be placed on a standby list and then able to get in for a show. The comedians were awesome, prices were completely reasonable and we had a lot of fun. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation - staying around waiting to find out if you're going in on standby is a bit boring, but well worth... More

We went to the cellar after booking well in advance for a Tuesday night show, the earliest available. We were greeted by a frantic but efficient crew of waitstaff and ushers who sat us at a corner jam packed with a lot of other patrons. We were told about the two item minimum and went a out ordering some drinks... More

If you are visiting NYC this place is a must! We had a fantastic night. The talent was great. I would definitely go again. The food wasn't great but we didn't really go there to eat. We went to the original location. Go! Laugh! Enjoy!

you never know what you are going to get. Comedy club can be very hit or miss depending on the night and your sense of humor. Fortunately, last night was a hit! Not only did we get Aziz Ansari we also got Ray Ramano to perform for us, along 2 other very solid comedians. The service was great, very quick... More

Booked on line for a 10.30 Saturday show. Tickets were a good price and you also needed to buy two drinks for the cover (they check your receipt on the way out). The drinks were well priced but we didn't try the food. The venue is small and intimate and a great place to see comics. We arrived about 25... More

We go to comedy clubs just about everywhere we travel and this was very different than most. Even if you make a reservation well in advance, make sure you show up at least a half hour before show time to get in line. Although we had made reservation weeks ahead and was the third party in line our seats were... More

The place was perfect - low ceilings, dark, cramped and small stage in the front. I reserved tickets on line without having to pay for them. We were seated in front and there were plenty of people at the door waiting to get in. The 6 comedians that performed were all very funny. This is a difficult task at a... More

Heard from a friend this was a must do in NYC, they were right. Atmosphere was great! Very small brick interior comedy club in the heart of it all. Comedy was very good, five different acts in all. 7pm show ran 1 hour & 15 minutes. Tried to get reservations on a Saturday night & they were sold out (all... More

This is the best place for standup comedy that I've found in NYC. The line-up is always top notch and you wouldn't be able to stop laughing! Better book in advance to avoid not getting in for the time slot you wanted. Not very expensive at about $20-$30 plus food

The Comedy Cellar is a wonderfully snug little place, in line with "being underground", and the comedians are pro and oh-so-amusing! We had the best laugh - all 6 comedians delivered, and in the cosy "grotto" we enjoyed fab cocktails in the dim lighting! The best part was the tight quaters, which made one feel like the comedians were talking... More
