This is the best place for standup comedy that I've found in NYC. The line-up is always top notch and you wouldn't be able to stop laughing! Better book in advance to avoid not getting in for the time slot you wanted. Not very expensive at about $20-$30 plus food

The Comedy Cellar is a wonderfully snug little place, in line with "being underground", and the comedians are pro and oh-so-amusing! We had the best laugh - all 6 comedians delivered, and in the cosy "grotto" we enjoyed fab cocktails in the dim lighting! The best part was the tight quaters, which made one feel like the comedians were talking... More

This was one of those visa moments -priceless. My daughter wanted to see Dave Atell so off we went to the late show. Of course, we had to sit right in front and he did not disappoint her. He and his fellow comedians gave her a night to remember. She was thrilled. I, on the other hand, had a red... More

Fabulous way to spend an evening in the Big Apple. We spent a few hours exploring the Village and ended up at the Comedy Cellar. Had no reservation but stood in the standby line and ended up with great seats for the early show. seating is very tight but its part of the charm. All three comedians and the MC... More

We began laughing when the hysterical MC walked on stage! This was our first trip to a comedy club and won't be our last! Very easy to go with the online reservations. The 5 comedians were great including, Michael Chee, Juda Freelander from 30 Rock, and Colin Quinn. We weren't tempted by the menu so chose to have 2 drinks... More

We have started to make this a given event each time we spend a weekend in NYC. Sure it is small, sure it is cramped but that is part of charm of it all. It is a great escape to do some laughing in our ever stressful world!! Some comedians are better than others. Will be back again!

We went here on Sunday July 6th. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended and easy to obtain via the website for the club. We had the pleasant surprise of seeing Judd Apatow and Aziz Ansari perform! Although they stole the show, I must say the other 3 performers were hilarious!! For only $14 we had a very memorable experience! Well worth every... More

This is a tiny comedy club, which is a good thing, in my opinion. We went on a Sunday night and ended up seeing Judd Apatow, Aziz Ansami, Gary Gulman and Michael Che, all in one night! Really exceptional evening. Only complaint - air conditioning was out of control - bring a sweater.

Not sure why they said the show starts at 9:30. It wasn't till 9:40 that we were allowed to enter the building. The show didn't start till after 10. You have to buy two menu items which could be either food or just beverages. Some comedians were better than others. But all in all the show was pretty decent and... More

My sister in law and I went on a Thursday to the 11:45pm "naughty" show. With only 2 days in NYC it was awesome to be able to fit it in with the late show (the explain that the naughty show allows the comics to be as inappropriate as they want but they don't have to be and you must... More
