This was by far my favorite event I went to in New York. We went on a Wednesday to the Nasty Show, and it did not disappoint. Will Sylvince was the MC for the night and he did excellent crowd work. We saw the lineup before going into the club and didn't really know many of the comics that were... More

We went to the 12:15 show on a Friday night and it was the time! Really funny comics and great atmosphere. The ladies room is TIGHT so maybe take care of that before you go, but it all kind of added to the experience :)

Caught the 7pm Sunday show with my son. It was at the comedy cellar at the village underground around the corner from their MacDougal St. location. Great venue and the line up was fantastic. Gina Yashere was MC tonight and she is brilliant. The rest of the line up was Alingon Mitra, Joe Machi, Judah Friedlander and Wil Sylvince. Solid... More

We booked ahead and would have liked a bit more information about arrival time as we had to wander around for a while because there are 3 showings and a very tight turn around but the place was run with precision and I cant fault the staff for their organisational skills. The room itself is small and cramped but the... More

Great atmosphere, great crowd, very funny show. Reasonable cover price and drinks are a little expensive, but 100% in line with expectations for a comedy club price. Excellent date night spot or a place to take a small group of friends. Definitely worth it!!

Went to the Comedy Cellar a few times with a group of friends and it was great both times. The comedians are hilarious, and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. There is a two drink minimum per person, and the drinks are very reasonably priced, especially for NYC. They have food, which I haven't tried but it looks... More

Where else can you go to have great drinks, good food and see great acts? This place is located on a great street with many fun places to eat but once you enter the basement show room all you do is laugh. We had the chance to see Pete from SNL, Azis Ansari and Godfrey - pretty amazing lineup if... More

Had a ball here! I dare you not to laugh! 4 out of 5 comedians hysterical! Just know that they are serious about talking during sets. We will definitely go again next time we are in NYC!

My husband and I came for a show on a recent trip to NYC and couldn't have been happier. We were seated right away and had good seats. The service was great and fast, especially for a comedy club(where you typically wait forever to get anything). The comedians were all very funny and we laughed the entire night. The only... More

Have been to the cellar a couple of times and will plan to fit it in every future visit to NYC. Always a great time with high quality professional comedians. First visit about 4 years ago featured Dave Attel, Amy Schumer and Gary Gulman and was pure hilarity. The most recent had lesser names, but was just as funny, and... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
