Each comedian that came on was totally different to the previous one and yet I couldn't have chosen between them - they were so funny. The compere was hilarious and entertaining too. The American audience got very excited about the unexpected appearance of Ray Romano (we were there from the UK). I eventually realised who he was but even if... More

This was awesome. I have to admit that I was here due to being a huge Louie CK fan, and this place didn't disappoint. Having watched Louie for years, this was at the top of my list for places to see in NYC. We booked ahead online which is a good idea because they do book up fast and it's... More

Was in NYC for 6 hours and went to a comedy show here on a Thursday. Was an awesome experience with 6 stand up acts and overall lasted a few hours. The evening host was a guy named Cipha Sounds who was absolutely hilarious. In terms of the acts- the first acts were more of a 'forced laugh' and were... More

Make a reservation two to three nights ahead if you want to get into the Comedy Cellar! Or turn up 30-45 minutes before the show and get in the standby line. They only let 5-10 people in the standby line in, so make sure you're up the front! Cover is $14 plus a 2 drink minimum. Otherwise brilliant comics, definitely... More

We went to the 19:00 show which lasted until 20:30. An awesome night out with unbelievable stand-up comedians. We did not stop laughing from the moment it began until it ended. The MC, Keith Robinson, was fantastic, setting a great atmosphere for the comedians. We were seated right in front of the stage so we got roasted by the MC... More

A highlight of our trip was the show at Comedy Cellar. The MC and four comics were just great, shared a wide range of material and something for everyone. Cover charge is $14, plus two item minimum per person (but it doesn't need to be alcohol). Enjoyed the sangria very much. Definitely make a reservation to guarantee entry.

We visited this Comedy Club on recommendation of friends and were not disappointed. The 6 comedians were all superb and had us laughing until our jaws were aching. However it could not be described as a 'family show' but we did not expect that.

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
