We went to the 10:30 pm show on May 9th at the Comedy Cellar. We made reservations about 3 weeks in advance, we got in line at 10:15, they had our name on the list and went in the doors. We waited in a long line for only about 5-10 minutes. They sat us right in front of the Microphone... More

We visited The Comedy Cellar on a Saturday evening with friends who recommended this venue. We had pre-booked, and as we had arrived early, enjoyed a few drinks in The Olive Tree above. About 20 minutes before showtime we checked in with the doorman who gave us a number and asked us to join the queue just around the corner.... More

My girlfriend and I went to the Comedy Cellar the first night of our trip and it was a great way to spend our first night in New York City. It is a very quaint establishment. When they say they are full they mean it! It is sort of a tight squeeze with the way they fit so many people... More

We visited last Saturday and laughed all night long! We were blown away with Aziz Ansari came and did a bit for us. We were not expecting that. Can't wait to come back!

My husband and I went here last night while visiting NYC. We booked reservations for the 9:45 show which was nice because we got great seats (arrived early as well). We went mainly because Joe Machi was on the line up; we had seen him before and enjoyed his sense of humor. Louie CK showed up and was hilarious, every... More

This club has a very traditional feel, like you see on TV....low ceiling with stage in front of a brick wall. They pack the place pretty tight but service was great. We didn't have reservations because we were at a Broadway show and didn't know when it would finish. We arrived around 9:45 and the doorman said the 11:15 show... More

My wife and I visited on March 1st and had an excellent evening. I don't know if I've ever laughed so hard for so long in my entire life. Great stand up acts, we were in the front row right in front of the mike so we got a fair amount of "attention" from the comedians and host which was... More

we went for an enjoyable night and that is exactly what we had. we sat in front row and loved every minute of it. yes they will pick on you in the front row, so if you don't want to be involved, ask to sit elsewhere! The drinks were good, service good and we even had a few comics drop... More

Some reviews complain about the rules of the house. It really wasn't that bad. Nothing wrong with not wanting your audience drunk. And the minimum is 2 items, nothing more. The guy outside who was checking reservations was a bit, abrupt, but everyone else was great. The place is small and they really cram you in. We sat elbow to... More

Tourist visit to the famed Comedy Cellar. Pretty awesome experience all the way around. All scheduled acts performed plus Louis CK showed up a bonus! Food and drink menu is better than you would expect. Prices were also more competitive than anticipated. Overall a cool way to see stand up in NYC!

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
