Title says it all, I arrived with my boyfriend in NY after booking this restaurant three months in advance, and despite requesting it when we booked, we were told that we couldn't have a table by the lake; although there were about four empty tables when we arrived, because they were reserved for a party of three or more. Annoyed,... More

You must book well in advance if you want to dine here for lunch or dinner. We booked 3 weeks in advance and had one of the last bookings. Possibly because it was the labour day weekend. If you do not book you may face a 2hr wait for a table. The food was absolutely fabulous, I had the sea... More

A great way to break up a visit to Central Park is to have a meal at the Boathouse. Be aware that there are options. The main restaurant overlooking the boating lake, comes at a price. But there is a cheaper option, with no water view, attached to the main building. Order from the counter and eat at your leisure.... More

I attended a wedding reception at this venue last weekend and it was beautiful and food excellent. This is what I consider a beautiful summer wedding in Manhattan! There service was very good and they were very attentive. The cocktail hour consisted of various tasty appetizers served by waiters and the lobster puffs were to die for. After cocktail hour guests... More

My visit to the Boathouse was for afternoon cocktails. It was a lovely afternoon and there is a very good cocktail list. As you would expect in Central Park, it isn't cheap, circa $15 a cocktail plus tip but to sit in the sun overlooking the boating late, it was worth the treat.

I've reviewed the dining experience at this place before. This review is about the bar. First off, this is an amazing location. If you're familiar with "When Harry Met Sally", then you've seen this place. It's situated on the edge of the boat pond where lovers swoon in rowboats and provides some of the best views in the park. The... More

I brought my wife for her birthday during brunch, we were greeted well and the attention was great. I told them it was my wife's birthday and the brought a phenomenal chocolate cake. Price it was ok, remember you get what you pay for and they had a lot of attention to detail.

I took a group of three people plus myself to rent a rowboat here. It cost $15 per hour, $3 for each additional 15 minutes, and a $20 refundable cash deposit. For four people, this is a great value in NYC. We all fit in one boat. The staff does their job. Thats it. No customer service, no tips or... More

Came here on a Sunday in February and had a brilliant brunch. We arrived about10:30am and were seated straight away right by the window so we could take in the amazing views. They don't take reservations for brunch but we were told there's not usually a wait if you arrive before 11am and this seemed pretty much spot on as... More

Beautiful, beautiful ambiance. We were right on the water. I found the staff to be great - - super sweet and accommodating. The food was so-so, but I also wasn't crazy about the dinner menu, so that may be why. Our son ordered a $45 filet, and we had to return it to be cooked further - - we ordered... More
