Beautiful, beautiful ambiance. We were right on the water. I found the staff to be great - - super sweet and accommodating. The food was so-so, but I also wasn't crazy about the dinner menu, so that may be why. Our son ordered a $45 filet, and we had to return it to be cooked further - - we ordered... More

We arrived at the restaurant and there was an hour wait, but not if you sat outside. We were attempting to eat a meal but the waitress informed us you could only get a cheese plate. When the cheese plate arrived there were three small pieces of cheese and six crackers. When the bill came it was $17 for only... More

We went for dinner and was not disappointed. White table cloths, table by the pond (not a bad seat in the house), wait persons on top of their game and the food was fresh and fantastic. Be sure to reserve far in advance. Even saw one young man get on his knee and propose, everyone cheered.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times, but the last two experiences have left a poor taste in my mouth. Two weeks ago, I ate there and brought a party of five very well behaved, and polite children. One white & three black. (there is a reason I'm stating this.) We were very excited to eat at the Boathouse... More

My mother and I experienced racial discrimination at the Loeb Boathouse. I'm actually still reeling from it. I would like to remind the restaurant of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which happens to explicitly prohibit restaurants from refusing service to patrons on the basis of race, color, or natural origin. Sure, they sat us, but they did not provide... More

We rented a rowboat twice on our trip, and it was a lot of fun. You bring $35 cash where $20 of that is a deposit that you get back at the end. The rental is for an hour, but I think that you can pay for more time. The lake is a pretty good size, so even if it... More

A beautiful spot to be.....wander through the park, go down to the lake past the boats. Enter a very welcoming dining room, even when a solo diner. Given a good table, attentive and friendly service. The recommendation of crab cakes as a main course was very welcome; from first bite I was in heaven!

Reservations are recommended but walk-ins only on the weekend. We got there for 10.30am and had a fantastic breakfast.... at first we thought the restaurant was perhaps too formal for a mid-morning meal (we were dressed in casual cycling attire!) but we felt very comfortable and coudn't believe the reasonable prices, generous servings and great staff. Highly recommend it... such... More

Decided to spend my birthday lunch at the Boathouse. Make sure you book. You have to choose a sitting. When we got there, there was a huge line and it was really humid but we got our seats fairly quickly and once seated it was a lot cooler. We were seated next to the water which was lovely. I got... Loeb Boathouse rents the rowboats that are on Central Park Lake. We decided to take a spin on a rowboat and you go to a tiny shack which rents the boats for $15 an hour with a $20 deposit that will be returned (with the receipt) after you return the boat. The dock is sinking into the water and you... More
