My visit to the Boathouse was for afternoon cocktails. It was a lovely afternoon and there is a very good cocktail list. As you would expect in Central Park, it isn't cheap, circa $15 a cocktail plus tip but to sit in the sun overlooking the boating late, it was worth the treat.

I've reviewed the dining experience at this place before. This review is about the bar. First off, this is an amazing location. If you're familiar with "When Harry Met Sally", then you've seen this place. It's situated on the edge of the boat pond where lovers swoon in rowboats and provides some of the best views in the park. The... More

I brought my wife for her birthday during brunch, we were greeted well and the attention was great. I told them it was my wife's birthday and the brought a phenomenal chocolate cake. Price it was ok, remember you get what you pay for and they had a lot of attention to detail.

I took a group of three people plus myself to rent a rowboat here. It cost $15 per hour, $3 for each additional 15 minutes, and a $20 refundable cash deposit. For four people, this is a great value in NYC. We all fit in one boat. The staff does their job. Thats it. No customer service, no tips or... More

Came here on a Sunday in February and had a brilliant brunch. We arrived about10:30am and were seated straight away right by the window so we could take in the amazing views. They don't take reservations for brunch but we were told there's not usually a wait if you arrive before 11am and this seemed pretty much spot on as... More

Beautiful, beautiful ambiance. We were right on the water. I found the staff to be great - - super sweet and accommodating. The food was so-so, but I also wasn't crazy about the dinner menu, so that may be why. Our son ordered a $45 filet, and we had to return it to be cooked further - - we ordered... More

We arrived at the restaurant and there was an hour wait, but not if you sat outside. We were attempting to eat a meal but the waitress informed us you could only get a cheese plate. When the cheese plate arrived there were three small pieces of cheese and six crackers. When the bill came it was $17 for only... More

We went for dinner and was not disappointed. White table cloths, table by the pond (not a bad seat in the house), wait persons on top of their game and the food was fresh and fantastic. Be sure to reserve far in advance. Even saw one young man get on his knee and propose, everyone cheered.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times, but the last two experiences have left a poor taste in my mouth. Two weeks ago, I ate there and brought a party of five very well behaved, and polite children. One white & three black. (there is a reason I'm stating this.) We were very excited to eat at the Boathouse... More

My mother and I experienced racial discrimination at the Loeb Boathouse. I'm actually still reeling from it. I would like to remind the restaurant of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which happens to explicitly prohibit restaurants from refusing service to patrons on the basis of race, color, or natural origin. Sure, they sat us, but they did not provide... More
