The Majestic theatre is where The Phantom of the Opera plays in the theatre district in New York City. They say it is one of the larger theatres but it is still small. It is a beautiful theatre inside and out and you can't beat seeing Lloyd Weber's masterpiece in this venue.

Phantom of the Opera was, of course, magnificent from beginning to end. My only problem was there was absolutely zero leg room and the seats were very small and not very comfortable. If you buy your tickets online in advance, be sure to ignore the long line of people waiting to go in and enter the door on the right... More

I'll put my review parts in order of importance. First things first, we went here to see the Phantom of the Opera, which was brilliant. I'm not a huge musicals fan but I like to indulge my wife, and we both thought it was excellent. That's the most important thing. It's a grand old theatre and it's bound to have... More

We recommend getting tickets at the Box Office. It is open far more hours than TKTS in Times Square. There was no line. We were also able to view a seating chart and get best available seating on the spot. (We had checked at TKTS in Times Square where it is reportedly possible to get discounted tickets, however, you have... More

We saw Phantom here on a matinee. We found the staff to be curt and not very friendly. The theatre was old (which is fine, it's NY Broadway), but dirty and cramped. Our view from second row top balcony was fine once the production got started. Bathrooms could be updated as well.

This is our 2nd time to watch "The Phantom of the opera" here. Settings, music was great as before. Only complaint was the cast was replaced at the later part and her performance was not as great as former one.

I have seen Penn and Tell about 15 years ago in Boston and have followed them for most of their 40 years of performing. This was the Greatest show that I have ever seen. The dialogue (Penn only of course) was great, audience participation, creativity and the WOW/OMG factor was there. This show will make your jaw drop. So much... More

I first saw this musical/opera at the Majestic in the early 80s, when Michael Crawford played the part of the Phantom. As my husband had never seen it, we got tickets to see it when we were in NYC for a wedding. I have to say, it is still as wonderful as it was 30 years ago. I recommend it... More

Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic. Beautiful theatre. Well worth the visit while in NYC. Right in the heart of Times Square with lots of places to eat before or after the show.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
