We recently saw the show "Catch Me" at the New Victory Theater. I was able to get seats a week out, they were the last ones left, other than random seats here and there. So glad, my granddaughters, daughter, and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. We were mesmerized by the skill and talents of the actors. I would not hesitate... More

The New Victory Theater near Times Square at 42nd & 7th is a beautifully maintained building dedicated to live productions aimed at children and teens. The current show "Cambuyon" is an entertaining combination of dance, drums and rhythemic vocals that kept our 3 generation family involved and clapping for the productions approx 1 hour run time. It's non-stop action loosely... More

The new victory theatre is a very special theatre. It curates the best entertainment from around the world geared to a younger audience and brings them to their NYC stage right in Times Square. The curation is very eclectic and we have never seen a boring or unoriginal show here. The program regularly changes. You won't find shows like these... More

We just walked there because we were informed that this very nice and old theater is having program for families. So we went there late afternoon just by curiousity and promptly were invited to see probing artistics from Australia and gave their final rehearsal. Our little daughter was impressed and so we were. Thanks to the friendy managers of New... More

The theatre offers a lot of alternatives in terms of the shows types for the kids. In general, it is a hit or miss. Some shows were really good, others were quite the opposite. F.e., 'Fragile' while very short was a very good show for the little ones. So, bottom line, read the review for each show as well as... More

We saw "Fragile", a French production featuring unique puppets and no words! Great production and highly recommend it for families. Can't wait to see another play at the New Vic on our next trip to NYC.

I’ve been taking my kids to the New Vic for over 10 years; the only full-time performing arts theater for children in NYC. They offer a wide variety of shows for many different age levels and adults will enjoy them also. Now that my kids are teenagers I select shows for the older age groups and we have seen some... This may be my newest fav place in NYC. We saw Bello the Clown's acrobatic/magic all-around crazy show and the 2 10 year olds laughed out loud the whole time - and their moms were too! Significantly cheaper than Broadway i highly recommend this if you are in the City and looking for a fun experience.

You won't find the huge productions of the typical Broadway shows. What you will find is a kid friendly Broadway experience in a fabulous venue at prices starting at what it costs to see a movie. Shows run for 1-2 months so be sure to check the calendar. Their web site is very clear about the age range for each... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
