I went to celebrate my birthday there & it was one of the best moments of my life!!! The live band is off the hook!!! They play everything: old school, new school, RnB, reggae, pop, rock etc. I danced & sang so much & so did my friend!!! We were having a blast. Best time ever! Everyone should go there... More

I make it my business to drive into the city at least once a month during the year and even more in the summer. Monday's Open Mic is hosted by the fabulous Cheryl Pepsii Riley & The Hot Chocolate Band! This is a fabulous place to hang out with friends for a good evening filled with live music, people from... If only the band was there 7 nights a week - we would have gone every night we were in NYC! So much fun. So many types of music. Cannot say a bad word about this place! Don't expect NYC quality cocktails though 😉

We were in NYC for two days from Texas. After much research on the nightlife, I decided on village underground because of all the great reviews. I made reservations a month in advance and received an email confirmation and a text the night of. The lounge upstairs is laidback and cozy. The band was great! They did R&B, Tejano and... More

I love the Village Underground so much that I decided to pick up some waitressing shifts there (as a side job). It is so great that I have to say if you visit NYC and you do not stop by the Underground for live music you made a big big mistake. The band is awesome (Wednesday through Friday). Also open... My wife and I went to Village Underground with another couple while vacationing in New York City. Previously we would go to Comedy Cellar, but it is my understanding this is an extension of the Comedy Cellar. The facility is much larger and easier to navigate than the Comedy Cellar's old facility. We were in the second row, so we... More

Sunday night with Ron & friends is great. Just make sure you make a reservation or you'll be standing for hours until someone leaves their table. The chicken wings weren't great though but the show was amazing!

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
