But that means it's easy to order food and drinks ahead of the band getting going. We were 4 people and had a prime spot at stage left on a... More

Having researched the New York swing bars before leaving home. This one sounded great as they have a live band every night and as we wanted to find somewhere on a Tuesday swing 46 fitted the bill, and it didn't disappoint We arrived before the band but sat at the cocktail bar and enjoyed a drink. Then went through to the diner... Overall the experience was good. We came for the live Jazz music and not entirely for the food. We did the Jazz dance lesson prior to the band starting, and found later that what they teach you and how everyone dances doesn't seem to matter; but still fun to try anyways. Dance floor is fairly small even for NYC in... More

A live swing band and great atmosphere made for a really fun night out! You can pay a cover charge and have a table in the back room with the band playing, or you can be sat in the bar area for free and still enjoy the tunes and great vibe! You know you have had a good night when... More

Food was fantastic. The bands are always top notch. However, Swing 46 needs to make some major changes regarding dancing! I have been here 3 times now and the dancers are treated like a tourist attraction. You walk in and once the doorman/woman finds out you are a dancer she/he gives you the stink eye because they know you will... More

The atmosphere and the groups are great. But the service and the management is an heartbreak history. Very unprofessional and bad behaviour. Many otherjazzbars in town. Do not loose your time and money here.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
