Best small jazz venue ever. I may have just been in the right mood, but sitting at bar and enjoying Steve Tremme Quintet was just what I wanted on a Saturday night in NYC. Lamb sliders were tres bien with a glass of Old Overholt Rye. Highly recommended.

Great ambiance, wonderfully cool little place. The appetizers were amazing; I had a caeser salad and deep fried shrimp. The main course was good but not great. I wish I had chose a different item (had the southern deep-fried chicken). The portion size is really large, impossible to eat everything they gave you. Dessert was great, but by that time... More

Very small venue, but surprisingly uncrowded considering the quality of both the music and the food. Sure, the pizza was a bit of a wet mess, but it was very tasty and the sea food pasta didn't skimp on the lobster. Great value, certainly, and an excellent atmosphere to boot.

how great to hear and see jazz in a real club, not a faux club or auditorium. yes, smoke is cramped. last time we saw a 16 piece band on the tiny stage... the sax leader was almost in the men's room... but up close and personal - wonderful. the staff is always friendly. the cover and minimums are reasonable... Ring in advance and get your name put on the door. We didn't and just rocked up about 10pm. Had to come back for the second show at midnight. It is a very small intimate venue and well worth the wait. Loved it.

This is a great place! 4 of us had a fun and relaxing brunch , listening to excellent live jazz. The place is friendly and has a great vibe, the menu was great , and the music really good. I'm told the ribs were particularly good. Bookings recommended

We went to Smoke for brunch and enjoyed fantastic food and great music by Annette St John and band. The atmosphere was incredible and the service was excellent!

We chose this jazz club because all the other places seemed to encourage you to be in line for an hour before the show WITH. Reserved tickets - not how we wanted to spend our time. We zipped up to the very upper west side for the 3rd show on a Thursday night. The jazz was good, $20.00 minimum, a... More

I love the website, which provided me with a favorite quote: "Smoke is Non-Smoking." I also love the club. They advertise themselves as being in Harlem but they are about 20 blocks below 125th St., so I would say they are really still on the Upper West Side. Regardless of specific location, the fact that they are not in Midtown... More

A really interesting old fashioned jazz dinner in an intimate setting. A wonderful sextet was playing (great trumpet and sax!) at our 6:30 sitting. Soul food dinners (fried chicken, ribs, barbecue chicken, trout) were huge and delicious. Outstanding place.
