it seemed a fun place with lots of guests enjoying earnest conversation and some applied drinking! The wine list was good and a great place to have a night cap. Did not try food.

We are staying in the adjacent hotel and had a pleasant experience here earlier in the day. We stopped in for a night cap only to wait for over ten minutes at the bar for an inattentive and rude bartender. He was ignoring the customers and dressing down the bar assistant who was working very hard keeping everything neat and... More

We were there at the early evening at about 8 p.m. and got the last table without waiting, allthough we said just for a drink. Really good Cocktails! Self-created or classics, if offered or not, they follow your wishes. But you have to calculate about 20 $ for a drink with tips!

You no longer have to be a "mover and shaker" to feel welcome at the Monkey Bar in the Hotel Elysee. I went there recently to meet two friends for a Friday lunch. I entered through the hotel lobby and was escorted to the Bar area by a very cold and aloof hostess,Carol. I don't know if the dining room... More

My partner made a reservation at the restaurant for the first night we were staying at the Hotel Elysee. We were seated right away and the hostess was very polite. The waiter took some time getting to us, as there were multiple tables in his area seated around the same time. I ordered a cocktail, which was made perfectly. We... More

Decoration with humour and low lights create a lovely atmosphere. Good selection of cocktails and a good selection of snacks, loved the corn and truffle frittes!

Recommended by the letterman staff while you wait...there are alot more friendly places. Waited forever for a drink, Way overpriced, not exactly freindly, not exactly clean. (I know it's a bar, but could you sweep the floor!)

Popped in for lunch. Sat at the bar as a walkin. The duck risotto was recommended by the bartender as was a glass of their sav blanc. Wonderful and comfortable. Will go back.

Took colleagues to Monkey Bar for lunch today. We were bombarded by fruit flies. At first it was one that I tried to swat away quietly, then I noticed my guests swatting them away as well. All through lunch. Completely unacceptable - I will never go back.

My husband and I were looking fwd to going here. Happy to get in,etc. I have dined at many upscale/famous Manhattan restaurants (as a tourist, not business) and was looking fwd to adding this one to my list of experiences. They are clearly riding on their reputation/ Vanity Fair connections. The bar was almost "divey". I was very surprised. Go... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
