Whatever you do in New York, whatever you have planned, you HAVE to make time to visit Cafe Wha? Myself and 19 friends and family of mixed ages, visited on a Tuesaday night to watch the Funk and Soul night. The band were FANTASTIC! They got everybody on their feet with some great feel good songs, and the open mic... More

We were referred to Cafe Wha and what an awesome suggestion! The house band was amazing! They were a cover band and had the crowd so into it! It's in a basement which was weird but the staff did a great job handling the crowds. If there was one negative it's the dance floor was non-existent and had about a... More

We went for a bachelorette weekend and a sister of the bride went to Columbia and lived there...so she knew of Cafe Wha? We went and had a blast! Celebrities were there and people left them alone. The house band was fantastic! It was a bit pricey, but it is in Chelsea so that is to be expected. I am... More

The place to enjoy live music in NY. The house band is amazing with all of them having amazing voices. High energy atmosphere.

Went here on a Sunday night, house band were playing plus fab cameos from a few very talented guest vocalists. Covered a wide variety of songs and genres quite brilliantly and got the place rocking. No cover charge on Sunday evening and very reasonably priced drinks added to a great evening's entertainment!

Went to Cafe Wha? for the 6.30 pm Bob Dylan tribute show on 11 Oct 2014 as part of a birthday visit to New York. Very disappointed! Thank heavens went to Met Opera the previous evening - now THAT was a fabulous treat! Generally Cafe Wha was a poor experience. Cramped seating, some monitors in black and white, staff who... More

We been there on Sunday night. The house band was playing and like one of the singers said: we came in with a big question mark on our faces which faded away after 3 songs. After that we got drifted into a legendary night of dancing and enjoying their great music. It was a crazy experience which Ill probably remember... More

My favourite bar for live music and drinks with friends, is simply fantastic. I was there with a huge group and a few of my friends end up doing a couple of song on stage with the band so it was pretty cool. For drinks I highly recommend the kamikazes.

Had heard good things about this place but even then it far exceeded our expectations. Amazing little club in a great part of the city. They will charge you $15 for entry (added to your bill at the end of the night) but it is so worth it when you consider the entertainment that is in store for you once... More

Visited on a Sunday night. There's no cover charge on a Sunday but there is a minimum spend of $20 per person which can include food & drink. We had already eaten prior to arriving but we like a drink so meeting the minimum spend wasn't difficult. Drink prices similar to UK bar prices $6 per beer $34 for bottle... More
