We thoroughly enjoyed our evening of live jazz music in the historic and legendary Birdland! We saw Arturo O'Farrill and Auction Project - great group - wow! Awesome and very friendly service and a wonderful positive vibe in this club!

I am not always a huge fan of Jazz but I had heard about Birdland on W. 44th St. in NYC and decided to take a chance on o"Ferrill and his quirky collection of musicians--accordian player, fiddler, drummer, and bass--this fourth of july weekend. The opening number was everything I don't like about Jazz-chaotic and feeling so off key but... More

The Louis Armstrong tribute band was excellent and very enjoyable. Food was in the "unremarkable" category and a bit overpriced (as expected).

We went to Birdland expecting to hear high quality jazz. There was an open microphone, swarmy presenter and singers ranging from 9-60. Felt like a version of X factor. Not being critical of the singers some were really good and the pianist and musicians were good but not what we were expecting from a supposedly high quality jazz club. The... More

a great central Jazz location serving reasonable food. pricing is variable and very negotiable - bring stubs from a show if your heading there late night and you should get a discount on the cover charge. its a cool vibe only missing a thick blue haze of cigarette smoke. recommended

We booked this club on Saturday 7th June to watch the Freddy Cole Quartet. We arrived at 10:40pm to friendly door staff and were taken to our table for 2. The club is decorated fantastic and exactly what i wanted it to be. It was relaxed, friendly, serving good food and drinks - we had the birdland burgers which were... More

My husband had been going to this for years and I went for the first time this year. The Cast Party on Monday nights is an open mike for talented Broadway types. It was a great way to sample entertainment and to see what really takes someone the extra mile. There were a few that were really good and one... More

My wife and I visited Birdland after a theater matinee last Wednesday to see the Louis Armstrong Eternity Band and have dinner. We were quite impressed with both the food and the music. The band has been playing at Birdland for over 15 years, with a rotating lineup of musicians. They were all quite talented. We expected great jazz at... More

It's not cheap. We paid US43 each as the entry charge. We had dinner there and the mains are about US18 but the food was quite good for this sort of venue. Drinks were about US 36 for a bottle of wine but not a rip off for a club. You need to get there early if you want a... More
