We went to see the Billie Halliday 100th anniversary special. Because of last minute booking, we got the very last row... 6 floors above the stage...!! And still, the sound was fantastic... the acoustics are so well done that there is probably not much difference between the first and last row... and the view from such a high perch was...... More

Big names, accompanied by stiff prices, but heaven for the jazz-lover! Of course, the talent varies over time, but all are top-drawer musicians and well worth the cost and the effort to book seats. Lincoln Center is without a doubt itself a big attraction, but the jazz makes it even more worthwhile.

Great place, overlooking New York memorable. Jazz Quality But plan to arrive early if you want to eat there because otherwise you end up on the bar stools, and it is a little freestyle but cheaper than sitting at a table

We love jazz and go several times a week. Whenever we are in NYC we always include a visit to JALC. The quality of music there is always superb. If we are going to Dizzy's, we are quite happy to eat there as the menu is interesting and a reasonable price. The views from JALC are superb.

Jazz at Lincoln Center is a must! Nothing like it anywhere else. The Orchestra is fantastic and Wynton Marsalis is a gift in our time. Talent overflowing!

First you are in the Time Warner Center with its views of Central Park and Central Park South from a high vantage point, and second the music is always really good or outright great, featuring jazz from more seasoned players or from newer discoveries—the younger set finding their way and rejuvenating the artform. The price is kind of surprizingly reasonable... More

We were visiting the center one evening & there was a young group of teenagers playing in the auditorium to a high standard. So keep an eye out for free live sessions of up & coming musicians if you decide to visit the center.

Every room in this place is amazing, the smaller venues are intimate and stylish, allowing one to study the music, the large room is spectacular.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
