During a recent trip to New York City, we wandered through Times Square. We happened to be there on 9/11/14 - just in time to see the nutty protestors there who carried signs saying "Thank God for 9/11" along with "Joan Rivers is in hell" signs. One thing is definite about Times Square- you see an interesting mix of people... More

Going to NYC and not seeing Time Square would be a crime. The led screens will literally overwelm your eyes. The lights ans fast speed of everything makes this what NYC is.

It is so interesting and full of different souvenirs stores, billboards on the buildings, illuminated all the time and that's the right point to entertain yourself by going for any kind of entertainment.

This is a visitor's center, show & ticket info site, historic theatre and history lesson, and it comes complete with- wait for it…. a CLEAN, FREE bathroom facility! Important to know where to go when you need to go in Times Square. Plus, you won't be followed in by those creepy costumed characters.

It is really weird when you see all crowds at Times Square then you feel more energy. People there never stop walking and this is really excited

This used to be the place for everything Times Square. Now it is replaced by the NYPD due to the amount of security needed to control Times Square. To be perfectly honest, the NYPD is equally helpful and sincere in their efforts to help anyone.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
